The State of Oklahoma in collaboration with Google is proud to announce a new initiative providing tools, resources, and training courses to help Oklahomans develop digital skills, advance their careers, and grow their businesses. Through this partnership, every course is available to Oklahomans at no cost. While these courses can be conveniently taken from home, the public may also access this valuable content through their local public library, where librarians are available to help support customers in their learning journey. This partnership underscores the vital role of libraries as community hubs, crucial in workforce development and lifelong learning.
Grow with Google was started in 2017 to help Americans grow their skills, careers and businesses. It provides training, tools and expertise to help small business owners, veterans and military families, jobseekers, students, educators, startups, and developers. Since Grow with Google’s inception, it has helped more than 11 million Americans develop new skills. Grow with Google has a network of more than 9,500 partner organizations like libraries, schools, small business development centers, chambers of commerce and nonprofits to help people coast to coast.

Google Career Essentials courses offer foundational training to help individuals improve their professional skills. Each course is introductory and self-directed, sharing essential knowledge on its subject.
The Google AI Essentials course is a beginner-friendly, self-paced program designed to help you understand and use artificial intelligence in everyday work. You’ll learn how to apply AI tools to boost productivity, generate ideas, and streamline common tasks—no prior experience required. The course focuses on practical, real-world use so you can start using AI right away.
What you will learn:
In this course, you’ll build a strong foundation in AI by learning what it is, how it works, and how it’s used in real-world settings. You’ll explore how to use AI tools to improve productivity by helping with tasks like writing, organizing information, and generating content. The course also introduces effective prompting techniques so you can communicate clearly with AI and get better results. In addition, you’ll learn how to use AI to support research and decision-making, evaluate outputs for accuracy and bias, and apply AI responsibly and ethically. Finally, you’ll gain an understanding of how AI is evolving and how to continue building your skills over time.

With a time investment of approximately 100-150 hours, these programs are designed to prepare you for success—whether you're starting out in an entry-level role, transitioning careers, or looking to advance in your current field.
Upon completion, you’ll earn an official certificate that not only validates your expertise but can also be added to your LinkedIn profile or resume—giving you a competitive edge and showcasing your commitment to professional growth. Programs Available
The Google AI Certificate program equips individuals with the practical skills needed to confidently use AI tools in today’s fast-evolving workplace. Designed for those looking to build real-world, job-ready experience, this program goes beyond foundational concepts to focus on applied learning that aligns with current employer expectations. Through hands-on projects, participants will develop a portfolio of over 20 AI-driven applications that demonstrate their ability to solve problems, create content, and enhance productivity using emerging technologies.
What you will learn:
Participants will gain a strong understanding of how to effectively apply AI across a variety of professional contexts. The program emphasizes practical skill-building, including producing high-quality images, videos, presentations, and marketing materials; conducting in-depth research to uncover meaningful insights; and creating clear, compelling infographics. Learners will also develop the ability to transform ideas into structured project plans and timelines, draft communications tailored to diverse audiences, and work with data by cleaning, analyzing, and visualizing it to support informed decision-making.
