LEARNER PERMIT AND MORE

Teen Drivers

The Graduated Driver License (GDL) program is designed for teen drivers under 18 to gain experience behind the wheel. The program phases in driving privileges for new teen drivers through a Learner Permit and an Intermediate License.

CLASS D DRIVER LICENSE

Adult Drivers (18+)

An Oklahoma Class D Driver License is available to adults over 18 that pass their written, vision, and drive tests. A Class D License provides standard driving privileges.

Are You REAL ID Ready?

Beginning May 3, 2023, a REAL ID compliant Driver License or ID Card,  or a valid federal identification document (i.e. U.S. Passport) will be required for you to fly within the U.S. or visit a federal facility.

Due to a high volume of requests recently, please allow up to 60 days after your submission to receive your license in the mail.

To receive a refund, please reach out to DLrenewal@dps.ok.gov with your query and include the following details in your email:

First and Last name
Date of Birth OR License/ID number
The FS-Case Number (Not the profile number) which can be found at my.ok.gov

Note: Please be aware it can take up to 6 weeks from the time you receive the refund confirmation email for the refund to be fully processed.

Yes, you can hold both a State ID card and a Driver License. A State ID card serves solely as a form of identification and does not offer driving privileges.
