Friday, January 07, 2022

OKLAHOMA CITY  — Leighann Cantrell, from Weatherford, earned the annual performance award presented by the Oklahoma Commission for Rehabilitation Services on December 13.

Cantrell is a career counselor for Vocational Rehabilitation in the Weatherford office.

Vocational Rehabilitation, a division of Oklahoma Rehabilitation Services, provided career counseling and employment services for 10,042 jobseekers with disabilities in 2021.

Two co-workers nominated Cantrell.

"Leighann always goes out of her way to make sure clients get what they need and are successful in the employment field," Rehabilitation Technician Courtney Roberts wrote in her nomination.

"She is helping with two caseloads right now and has been nothing but positive and helpful, despite the enormous responsibility she is taking on," wrote Satyn Steffes, who was a GALT Foundation employee at the time the nomination was made.

"You could not hope a better counselor, college, mentor, or friend," Steffes wrote. "She really embodies everything this organization stands for."
