Friday, May 03, 2019

DRS Executive Director Melinda Fruendt presented a certificate for physical accessibility on April 26 to the Northeast Area Workforce Development Board for achieving Access for All at the American Job Center in Bartlesville.

The Northeast Area is the second local area to earn the physical accessibility certification, which documents their commitment to helping job seekers with disabilities fully utilize their employment and job training resources.

Director Fruendt made the presentation following Governor. J. Kevin Stitt’s speech at the State and Local Board Training and Strategic Planning Retreat.

She also recognized the DRS partnership with Oklahoma ABLE Tech and Oklahoma Works to provide for an accessible workforce system. She thanked Charlie Watt, DRS ADA Coordinator, on his commitment and work that contributed to the success of the effort.

The Governor’s Council for Workforce and Economic Development hosted the two-day training in partnership with Oklahoma Association of Workforce Development Boards at Reed Conference Center in Midwest City.
