TULSA, Okla. -- Visual Services will hold a free job and resource fair from 9 a.m. to noon on Wednesday, April 25, for jobseekers who are blind or visually impaired. The public is invited to come to the 10th floor at 907 S. Detroit in Tulsa.
Space is currently available for employers who would like to reserve tables.
“Visual Services’ job fair is the perfect solution for blind or visually impaired individuals who are seeking employment or need resources for training or entering employment,” said Danny Robison, Visual Services program manager. “Our assistive technology experts will be there to demonstrate the latest equipment and answer any questions about how technology needs for training or employment.“
In 2017, Visual Services helped 1,196 jobseekers who are blind or visually impaired through career planning, employment and independent living programs. Many clients received one-on-one instruction that improved their ability to travel safely and efficiently, operate computers and other technology, manage their households and much more. The average Visual Services client who became employed earned $23,078 per year and paid $3,462 in average annual taxes.
Visual Services is a division of the Oklahoma Department of Rehabilitation Services.
