DHS:2-25-5. Legislation reviews

(a) Procedure.The Oklahoma Department of Human Services (DHS) Legal Services (LS) may assist with two separate functions in regard to legislation.Upon a program's request, LS may review proposed legislation already drafted by the program or may participate in initial drafting of proposed legislation.The request for legislative assistance:

(1) is made by an administrator and/or the DHS legislative liaison.

(2) explains the need for legislation, provides the intended purpose of the legislation, and when only a review is sought, contains a copy of the drafted legislation.

(3) contains the program contact's name who will assist LS review or draft the proposed legislation.

(4) contains a desired deadline.

(b) Assignment.Upon receipt the General Counsel assigns the request to one or more attorneys, determines an estimated due date for completion, and then communicates the date to the requesting party.
