340:110-5-119. Training and life-skills assessment

(a) General. Prior to placement of the youth in an independent living program, appropriate training and a life-skills assessment are required and documented.
(b) Life-skills assessment. The assessment identifies potential areas of risk associated with independent life in the community and includes:
- (1) money management and consumer awareness;
- (2) food management;
- (3) personal appearance and hygiene;
- (4) health services;
- (5) housekeeping and personal belongings;
- (6) housing search skills;
- (7) transportation skills and issues;
- (8) educational planning, if appropriate;
- (9) vocational training;
- (10) job seeking skills;
- (11) skills in emergency situations;
- (12) drug and alcohol use;
- (13) sexuality;
- (14) interpersonal skills;
- (15) community involvement and knowledge of resources; and
- (16) legal issues and knowledge of legal rights.
