Sources of Verification
There are many ways in which you can verify necessary information. Here are some examples but these should not limit the types of verification you will accept when not questionable.
More common methods for SNAP:
- Documentary Evidence
- Written proof, such as, pay stubs, receipts, etc.
- Collateral Contacts
- Written or spoken statements from employers, former employers, friends, or neighbors
Less common methods for SNAP:
- Home Visits
- Appointment with client in their home that is scheduled in advance
- Field Investigation
- Investigation outside of the office and could include visiting job sites or other important locations
Whatever source of evidence that you use, make sure to document in FACS case notes what type it was and why you used this over another, if relevant.
