Verification of Income

Household income means income from all sources excluding on the income listed here.  Income considered and verified is all income which is expected to be received during the period of certification.

You should verify all gross, non-exempt, income for all households prior to certification. In cases where you attempt to verify income and have been unsuccessful because the person or organization providing the income does not cooperate with you or the household, you will determine the amount using the best information left.

For more information on all types of income, see the subsection on Income

Method of Verifying Income

You should use documentary evidence as the primary source of verification.  If you need to use other methods, you should case note why this is needed.
