Calculating Income from Destitute Migrant or Seasonal Farm Laborers

Destitute households must have their level of benefits calculated for the month of application based on the income received from the first of the month to the date of application. Do not anticipate income sources after the date of application.

If a household participated in SNAP within the prior 30 calendar days, you will give them a full allotment of benefits for the application month.  If the client has not participated in the last month, you will prorate the benefits as normal.

Use the standard procedures for processing expedited service. However, before certifying the third month of benefits, verification from both in and out of state sources must be received. You can postpone out-of-state verification once each season for migratory farmers.
