​SNAP Mid-certification Renewals (MCRs)

Annual and semi-annual reporting households must complete a mid-certification renewal (MCR) half way through their certification period.  An interview is not required at MCR. 

Timeframe

For annual reporting households, their MCR is due in the 12th month of their certification. For semi-annual reporting households, the MRC is due in the 6th month of their certification.

Verification 

At the MCR, the client must verify:

• the last 30 days of income received for everyone included in the food benefit allotment; and

• any medical expense changes for household members with disabilities or 60 years of age or older. 

At the MCR, the system applies all benefit increases, decreases, or closure actions you make to the client's case.
