Purpose of Child Care Subsidy
The Child Care Subsidy Program provides subsidies to help Oklahoma families pay for child care services. It helps recipients to better themselves through employment, education, and training. Providing child care helps DHS in its mission to help parents and caretakers achieve their maximum potential for self-support. Quality child care also assures parents and caretakers that their child is safe and receives opportunities for development while they are working or in school.
Early childhood education is very important. The emotional, social, and physical development of young children has a direct impact on their success as adults. Investing in the future of young Oklahomans maximizes their opportunity and chances for future success and self-sufficiency.
Oklahoma’s Child Care Program receives funding through the Child Care and Development Block Grant.
