Child Care Subsidy does not count any income devoted to a Plan for Achieving Self-Support (PASS).
A PASS is a Supplement Security Income (SSI) work incentive. The intent is to help individuals with disabilities return to work. The SSI recipient chooses a work goal to pursue, and Social Security decides whether to allow the recipient to pursue that goal.
Once Social Security approves his or her goal, the SSI recipient may use an approved portion of their own money or resources to pursue that goal. The income and resource may fund the training, materials, or services that will enable the recipient to return to work. While the recipient is pursuing this goal, Social Security disregards the portion of the recipient's income and resources it has approved to be devoted to this work goal.
