Closure Timeframes

When the household no longer qualifies, the Child Care benefit must close. Consult the following table to determine when the Child Care benefits must close.

You must ensure that the household receives the appropriate notice according to the deadline dates in the Appendix B-2 when closing Child Care. You must also ensure that you enter and submit any closures before the 27th of each month.

IMS sends the next month’s eligibility information to EPPIC on the 28th. Entering a closure between the 28th and the end of the month prevents EPPIC from recognizing the closure until the end of the next month and may lead to an overpayment.

When you receive notice that a case must close between the 28th and the month’s end, wait until the 1st of the following month to enter the closure.
