Tribal Foster Children without a an Open Resource
Most often, an application from a foster parent indicates that Child Welfare (not you) handles the application. The only exception is when a tribal foster child needs care and there is not an open resource in KIDS. You may use the IMS PY transaction or ACES to check for an open Child Welfare case. The first two characters of a Child Welfare case start with KK. On ACES, a W/A indicates an open Child Welfare case. Contact the Child Welfare worker if a child's status is unclear.
Process the application, and then send an email to Child Care Subsidy. Include the case number, the foster parent’s name, and the child’s name. Child Care Subsidy will determine why there is not an open resource in KIDS.
