You are responsible for your benefits—take these steps to keep them safe.
The ONLY way to prevent unauthorized transactions is to keep your card locked everywhere.
Lock Card everywhere and Automatically Re-lock
The Lock Card everywhere feature is the ONLY way to prevent unauthorized transactions.

When your card is locked, your benefits are protected! Whenever you go shopping, use the ConnectEBT app to unlock your card and lock it again after you check out.
The ConnectEBT app by Conduent Inc. is available for free in both the Apple App Store and Google Play stores. Don’t share your account information with third-party apps that offer coupons because they may be fake apps used by criminals to steal your benefits!
You can also lock and unlock your card by using the ConnectEBT Client Portal.
Re-lock Automatically
We heard your feedback! To help you keep your benefits safe, we've made it easier to lock and unlock your card whenever needed.
Now, each time you unlock your card, you can set it to automatically relock after 30, 60, or 90 minutes.
Have limited internet access? Use the Automatic Re-lock feature to ensure your card stays secure even when you're offline.

- Lock/Unlock applies only to the card, not the entire case.
- Each card must be locked or unlocked separately, and this must be done through the individual cardholder’s ConnectEBT login.
- Benefits will be issued to your card while it is locked.Unlock your card if you need to return purchases.
- You will receive an email notification when you lock or unlock your card.
Choose a PIN that is hard-to-guess and keep it secret to protect your benefits. Change it monthly for extra security against fraud.
Invalid input error: this happens when the newly created PIN doesn't meet the guidelines. For example, repeating numbers (1156, 4005), numbers side by side in sequence-forward (1240, 8457), numbers side by side in sequence-backward (4350)
Don’t use:
- Repeating numbers (1156, 1255)
- More than 2 numbers in order (1235, 8678)
- Addresses
- Phone number
- Birthdates
- Last four digits of card number
- Old PIN number
Select a secure PIN by:
- Accessing your ConnectEBT account
- Call 1-888-328-6551 to set your PIN by phone
Reporting a lost or stolen benefits card immediately is crucial to protect your funds. If someone else accesses your card, your benefits could be used without your permission. Fast reporting helps secure your account and ensures you receive a replacement card as soon as possible.
- Your card is permanently disabled once reported lost, stolen, or damaged.
- Order a replacement.
- Verify your address in the app before ordering a replacement.
- Order replacement card--it will be mailed to the address on your account.
- Within 24 hours, check back to make sure card status is “Active” and then Lock Card Everywhere and change PIN.
See future deposits
You’ll see your next deposit amount before you can use your benefits. For example, in the screenshot below the next deposit amount for $638.00 is shown. However the amount that can be used is $7.74 until 03/10/2025 when the next deposit is issued.
