First Responders, Local Officials to Discuss Incident Resource Hotline Saturday in Shawnee

System designed to assist in delivery of mutual aid resources
More than 200 first responders and local officials are expected to attend Saturday when the Oklahoma Department of Emergency Management, State Fire Marshal, Oklahoma Office of Homeland Security, Oklahoma Department of Agriculture Forestry Services and firefighter associations from across the state host an orientation meeting announcing the Oklahoma Incident Resource Hotline.
The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Heart of Oklahoma Exposition Center, 1700 West Independence in Shawnee.
The Hotline is designed to allow local resources to be coordinated between Oklahoma cities, towns and counties through the State Emergency Operations Center, during times of emergency and disaster.
Already state resources are deployed through the State EOC. The Hotline works similarly to expedite requests for mutual aid with the State EOC serving as a hub to coordinate the delivery of resources from one local jurisdiction to another.
Emergency managers, firefighters, law enforcement, public works, dispatchers, municipal and county officials and emergency medical personnel are among those registered to attend the event.
