The projects below are weather permitting:

 

I-44 narrows at S.W. 149th St. Thursday night; ramp to N. Meridian Ave. closes

Westbound I-44 (runs south) will be narrowed to one lane between S.W. 149th St. (mm 109) and N.E. 34th St. (mm 108) from 8 p.m. Thursday to 5 a.m. Friday for surface repairs. The westbound I-44 off-ramp to N. Meridian Ave./N.W. 35th St. will e closed during this time.

 

I-35 narrows at 33rd St. in Edmond Thursday night

Northbound I-35 will be narrowed to one lane at 33rd St. in Edmond from 8 p.m. Thursday to 6 a.m. Friday for bridge work. Additionally, the westbound lane of 33rd St. at I-35 will be closed during this time. 

I-35 lanes, ramps intermittently close between Memorial Rd., Second St. in Edmond through 2025

North and southbound I-35 will be intermittently narrowed, and I-35 ramps will be intermittently closed between Memorial Rd. and US-77/Second St. in Edmond through summer 2025 as part of a resurfacing and bridge project. Eastbound N.E. 33rd St. is narrowed to one lane at I-35 through March for drainage relocation. The project will resurface the shoulders along I-35, add protected turnarounds at 33rd St., 15th St. and 2nd St. and includes the first phase of the one-way frontage road conversion.

 

I-35 narrows to one lane between Norman and Goldsby nightly  through Friday

Northbound I-35 will be narrowed to one lane between SH-74 in Goldsby and SH-9W in Norman from 9 p.m. Wednesday through 6 a.m. Thursday and continuing nightly through Friday for surface work. Use caution in the area.

 

SH-9W narrowed at I-35 in Norman through 2026

SH-9W is narrowed to one lane in each direction at I-35 near Goldsby through 2026 as part of an ongoing interchange construction project in the area through 2026. The overall project will convert the I-35 and SH-9W interchange into a Diverging Diamond Interchange, widen I-35 to six lanes between SH-9W and SH-74/Main St. in Goldsby and add two roundabouts along SH-9W service roads:

  • Northbound and southbound I-35 will be intermittently narrowed between SH-9W in Norman and Main St. in Goldsby through 2026 for corridor widening and an intersection improvement project.
  • The southbound I-35 off-ramp to SH-9W is shifted through June as part of ongoing work in the area. 
  • Drivers should use caution as I-35 lanes have a much shorter merge area.
  • All lanes of northbound and southbound N.W. 12th Ave. are shifted between SH-9W and Lamar Rd. through July. Drivers can access southbound I-35 from N.W. 12th Ave. but will not be able to use N.W. 12th Ave. as a service road.
  • Eastbound and westbound SH-9W will have their own ramps that merge together to then get onto northbound I-35. 
  • Drivers can use US-77, I-44 as alternate routes.

I-44 narrows to one lane at S.W. 104th St. through Saturday morning

Westbound I-44 will be narrowed to one lane at S.W. 104th street through 5 a.m. Saturday for surface repairs.

 

US-77 shoulder closed at SH-9 in Norman

The northbound US-77 shoulder underneath SH-9 in Norman will be closed for bridge repairs. Use caution in the area.

 

US-77/12th Ave. narrows at Arkansas St. in Norman

Southbound US-77/12th Ave. is narrowed to one lane at Arkansas St. in Norman for utility repairs by the City of Norman.

 

SH-66/US-81 roundabout opens to one lane in El Reno

SH-66/US-81 roundabout in El Reno is now operating in a single lane configuration. Drivers should be aware there will be work taking place inside the roundabout and in the surrounding area through fall 2025. Drivers should continue to use extra caution in the area as this is an active work zone. 

Tips for using a roundabout:

  1. Slow down when approaching the roundabout.
  2. Be ready to yield: Traffic already in the roundabout has the right of way, regardless of lane. Look left and enter when clear.
  3. Remember to signal before exiting the roundabout.

SH-66, US-81 narrow to one lane in El Reno through 2025

The following closures will be in place at the SH-66/US-81 intersection in El Reno through 2025 for roundabout construction:

  • Eastbound and westbound SH-66 will be narrowed to one lane in each direction at US-81;
  • Northbound and southbound US-81 will be narrowed to one lane in each direction at SH-66; and
  • S.E. 27th St. will be closed to thru traffic throughout the project.

At least one lane will remain open during construction, however, there will be some temporary detours in place as crews work to shift lanes between construction phases. Drivers should plan additional travel time in the area and expect delays.

 

Oklahoma Turnpike Authority

The projects below are weather permitting:

 

I-44/Turner Turnpike narrows west of Kellyville through summer 2025

Eastbound and westbound I-44/Turner Turnpike lanes are shifted, and the lane width is narrowed with no shoulders between mm 201 and mm 203 to SH-66 for the next phase of paving as part of the widening of the Turner Turnpike to six lanes between Bristow (mm 197) and SH-66. Additionally, W. 211th St. is closed between S. 337th W. Ave. and N. 3730 Rd. through summer 2025 for ongoing bridge construction. Motorists are advised to use caution in the area and to watch for heavy equipment entering the work zone.

 

I-44/Turner Turnpike narrowed at SH-99 in Stroud through 2026

Westbound I-44/Turner Turnpike Lane widths are narrowed between SH-99 (mm 179) in Stroud and the westbound I-44/Turner Turnpike service plaza through 2026 as part of an ongoing widening and realignment of the westbound lanes.

 

I-44/Turner Turnpike service plaza truck parking areas closed at Stroud for ongoing construction; service plaza remains open for fuel, food and restroom access

The westbound I-44/Turner Turnpike service plaza at Stroud (mm 179) temporarily will have all long-term commercial truck parking closed through early 2026 as part of a project to modernize and reconstruct the service plaza. This project features a full reconstruction of the McDonald's and Loves Travel Stop buildings.

Motorists still will be able to access fuel, restrooms and food at the existing Love's during the reconstruction; however, they should expect lane shifts and changes in access throughout construction. The McDonald's is temporarily closed. Commercial trucks should locate alternative long-term parking locations.

 

I-44/Turner Turnpike lanes shifted at SH-66 in Wellston; SH-66 closed as part of bridge widening project

Westbound and eastbound I-44/Turner Turnpike lanes are shifted at SH-66 Wellston (mm 158-157) to a temporary detour for an ongoing bridge reconstruction project through summer 2025. Ramps will remain open during the lane shift. Motorists are advised to slow down for safety and to remain vigilant in the work zone. Additionally, eastbound and westbound SH-66 remains closed in both directions between the off-ramps for the I-44/Turner Turnpike (mm 158) in Wellston through summer 2025. This closure is between SH-102 and US-177 in Lincoln County and has a signed detour route.

 

I-344/John Kilpatrick Turnpike shoulders closed between Eastern Ave. through fall

Eastbound and westbound I-344/John Kilpatrick Turnpike remains open to two lanes in each direction, but shoulders are closed between Eastern Ave. (mm 136) and I-35 (mm 132) for work related to an ongoing widening project. The project to widen this section to six lanes is expected to complete in fall 2025, weather permitting. Motorists are advised to use caution in the work zone.

 

Ongoing Highway Construction Projects

I-40 narrows at Douglas Blvd. in Midwest City through 2025

Eastbound I-40 will be narrowed to two lanes in each direction between Town Center Dr. in Midwest City and the I-240 interchange with lane shifts and intermittent ramp closures through 2025. Drivers should use caution as there are no shoulders or merge distances, or use I-240 and US-62/N. 23rd St.

  • Anderson Rd. under I-40 is closed through spring.
  • Eastbound I-40 on and off-ramps at Anderson Rd. are closed through summer.
  • The northbound Douglas Blvd. off-ramp to eastbound I-40 is open. Southbound Douglas Blvd. will not be able to access the ramp.
  • Eastbound I-40 traffic using the Douglas Blvd. off-ramp cannot turn left onto northbound Douglas Blvd.
  • The eastbound I-40 on-ramp from Industrial Blvd./Ave. is permanently closed.
  • The westbound I-40 off-ramp to Industrial Blvd./Ave. is permanently closed.
  • Drivers are still encouraged to use the protected turnaround at Town Centre to access the eastbound Industrial Blvd. on-ramp from westbound I-40.
  • Drivers should expect congestion, especially during peak travel times. While the westbound I-40 off-ramp to Douglas Blvd is open, accessing the Hruskocy Gate from Douglas Blvd. is discouraged, and drivers wanting to access the gate should use the new protected turnaround to access the eastbound Industrial on-ramp.
  • The left lane of the eastbound I-40 off-ramp to Town Center Dr./Eaker Gate is closed through spring 2025.

I-44 narrows at SH-152/Airport Rd. through summer

Drivers should expect changing conditions along eastbound and westbound I-44 at SH-152/Airport Rd. through summer as part of a corridor widening project.

 

I-40 narrows at I-44 through fall 2025

East and westbound I-40 will be narrowed between Meridian Ave. and May Ave., over I-44, from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. nightly through fall. Drivers can expect various lane and intermittent ramp closures throughout the bridge and pavement rehabilitation project. Drivers should slow down and use caution in the work zone. I-240 narrows at I-35 through 2025

The following closures are scheduled for east and westbound I-240, S.E. 59th St., Pole Rd. and I-240/I-35 service roads as part of a multi-phase interchange improvement project:

  • Crossroads Blvd. is narrowed to one lane in each direction through 2025 for bridge replacement.
  • The westbound I-240 on-ramp from S.E. 74th St. is closed permanently
  • S.E. 74th St./I-240 Service Rd. is closed to through traffic between Eastern Ave. and Crossroads Blvd. through fall 2025
  • S.E. 59th St. is intermittently narrowed
  • The eastbound I-240 off-ramp to Pole Rd. is closed permanently.
  • I-240 is still two lanes each direction and advise caution as speed is reduced and lanes narrow/no shoulders
  • East and westbound I-240 and frontage roads will be intermittently narrowed for pavement rehabilitation and railroad bridge replacement.
  • Northbound I-35 off-ramp to eastbound I-240 will be intermittently narrowed

Drivers can expect lane and ramp closures throughout the project, full weekend closures of I-240, as well as increased congestion in the area, especially during peak travel times.

Drivers should locate an alternate route or add additional travel time. Drivers can use I-40 as an alternate route or locate one using the Drive Oklahoma app.

 

I-44 ramps closed at N.W. 10th St. through fall

The east and westbound I-44 on-ramps from N.W.10th St. are closed through late fall for a City of Oklahoma City bridge project.

 

I-35, I-44 narrowed near N. 63rd St. through 2025

The following closures are in place through 2025 for bridge reconstruction:

  • Northbound Bryant Ave. is narrowed to one lane between 50th St. and Aluma Valley Dr. through spring 2025.
  • N. 63rd street is closed between Bryant Ave. and Martin Luther King Ave.
  • North and southbound I-35 is narrowed to two lanes in each direction between N. 50th St. and Wilshire Blvd.
  • Westbound I-44 is narrowed to one lane from Wilshire Blvd. to Martin Luther King Ave.
  • The southbound I-35 on-ramp from Bryant Ave. is permanently closed.

Motorists should expect congestion and delays in the area and are encouraged to plan extra travel time.

 

134th St. narrowed to one lane at I-44 through June

134th St. will be narrowed to one lane controlled by a temporary traffic signal through June as part of a bridge project. During this phase, traffic exiting from I-44 to the 134th off-ramps will have to turn right on S.W. 134th and traffic traveling on S.W. 134th will not be able to turn left onto I-44.

 

SH-9E narrowed near US-77 in Norman through fall 2025

Eastbound and westbound SH-9E will be intermittently narrowed to one lane in each direction just west of US-77 in Norman through fall 2025 for bridge replacement. Crews will work to limit closures for home football games and major travel events; however, drivers should plan ahead and prepare for additional travel time.

 

SH-37/S.E. 4th St. closed at Broadway Ave. in Moore through summer 2026

East and westbound SH-37/S.E. 4th St. are closed between Broadway Ave. and Tower Dr. in Moore through summer 2026 as part of a railroad bridge project. Drivers should use extra caution in the area.

 

SH-66 narrows in Edmond, Arcadia through 2025

SH-66 will be intermittently narrowed to one lane between Post Rd. in Edmond and Luther Rd. in Luther through summer 2025 for resurfacing and widening. Motorists should expect:

  • SH-66 is narrowed to one lane at Indian Meridian Rd. through July. Traffic is being controlled by flaggers
  • SH-66 to be narrowed to one lane in each direction between Post Rd. and Westminster Rd.
  • SH-66 to be intermittently narrowed to one lane between Anderson Rd. and Luther Rd. with a traffic signal and speed reductions.
  • SH-66 lanes are shifted to the south between Post Rd. and Westminster Rd. through fall.

 

SH-4 shifted at Wagner Rd., Wager Rd. closed in Yukon through spring 2025

Lanes of north and southbound SH-4 are shifted at Wagner Rd. and east and westbound Wagner Rd. is closed east of SH-4 in Yukon through spring for SH-4 realignment. 

 

SH-152 closed at Banner Rd., near Union City through 2025

All lanes of eastbound and westbound SH-152 are closed between Banner Rd. and Cemetery Rd. through 2025 for reconstruction. Drivers can use US-81 to I-40 to SH-4 or US-81 to SH-37 to SH-4 as a detour.

 

US-270 narrowed to one lane near Calumet through summer 2025

East and westbound US-270 is narrowed to one lane between Red Rock Rd. and Taft Ave. and also between Maberry Rd. and Cedar Rd. near Calumet through summer 2025 for surface work. Temporary traffic signals are in place.
