SH-20 pavement project starts July 6 in Claremore; expect delays

A $4.6 million project to replace the pavement on SH-20 between the SH-66 junction and the I-44/Will Rogers Turnpike in Claremore is scheduled to begin Tuesday, July 6. Drivers should plan ahead now for delays, especially during peak travel times.

East and westbound SH-20 will be narrowed to one lane in each direction throughout this corridor, and there will also be short-term closures at various local streets intersecting this highway. Drivers should be alert to slower traffic in the corridor and also to crews and equipment working nearby.

The overall project is expected to complete in spring 2022, weather permitting.
