January Transportation Commission meeting scheduled for Monday, Jan. 7

The Oklahoma Transportation Commission will hold its meeting at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 7 in the R.A. Ward Transportation Building, 200 N.E. 21st St. in Oklahoma City.

Items to be addressed at the meeting include:

  • Oklahoma Department of Transportation Executive Director Mike Patterson will update members of the commission on the impact of the federal government shutdown on future projects.
  • The department will accept awards from the American Concrete Pavement Association for a highway project in Stillwater and a county road project in Kingfisher County.
  • The commission is expected to vote on approval of a total of $1.4 million in funding for installation of flashing signals with gate arms at four BNSF railroad crossings on city streets in northwest Oklahoma City.

The full agenda can be viewed at The meeting is open to the public or can be viewed live online at The commission, an eight-member panel appointed by the governor to oversee the state’s transportation development, awards project contracts for road and bridge construction on a monthly basis.
