Public invited to give input on future SH-58 project in Comanche County

The Oklahoma Department of Transportation is hosting a public open house meeting in Medicine Park to present information and gather input on a proposed project on SH-58 between SH-49 and N.W. Wolf Road in Comanche County.

The existing highway has inadequate shoulders, a narrow bridge, no left-turn lanes and a substantial accident history. The planned project has been designed to improve safety of the roadway while taking into consideration its importance as part of the Wichita Mountains Scenic Byway. Proposed improvements include resurfacing and adding wider shoulders and turn lanes to the highway.

While no formal presentation is scheduled, members of the public can come anytime during this open house meeting to view plans of the proposed improvements, speak with engineers and planners and give input on the project.
