The Oklahoma Department of Transportation and partners are extending their hands to the Tulsa area with a job training/outreach program for Disadvantaged Business Enterprises and the public called "Building the Road to Your Future." The program is open to the public and sponsored by ODOT's Civil Rights Division in partnership with Associated General Contractors, Tulsa Technology Center, Rep. Regina Goodwin, Sens. Kevin Matthews and Gary Stanislawski,  among others.
The event is a valuable networking opportunity for any job seeker but especially DBE firms, contractors, subcontractors, cities and those that do work with the federal government. Sessions at the conference will cover the process by which DBE firms can become certified to bid on state contracts, connect with contractors on projects, explore opportunities open to Oklahomans wanting to begin or continue education in the construction field and highlight open positions at ODOT.
Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. with breakfast snacks and beverages served followed by a welcome from Dr. Joyce McClellan of Tulsa Technology Center and the legislators. Breakout sessions will include various topics, wrapping up with scholarship information at 11:30 a.m., closing remarks by ODOT's Director of Operations Paul Green and an hour of open networking.
