US-69/75 Commerce Connection Project Through Bryan County

About the Project:

  • This project will widen and resurface four miles of US-69/75 between the US-70 junction in Durant to Chichasaw Rd. south of Calera.

  • This project will improve accessibility on and off the highway, protect key interchanges, create one-way frontage roads and add a much needed rail crossing to the four lanes of traffic, all to alleviate traffic congestion and improve safety.

  • The $152 million contract was awarded to Duit Construction of Edmond during the August 2018 Oklahoma Transportation Commission Meeting.

  • At the time of it's award this was the departments highest awarded contract amount.

  • The project was made possible by a $62 million federal FASTLANE grant, the third largest grant awarded in the nation during that grant cycle and one of the highest amounts of federally awarded grant funding in the department's history.

  • Construction on the project is expected to start May of 2020, with utility relocations and detour construction currently in progress.
