January Transportation Commission meeting scheduled for Monday, Jan. 6

The Oklahoma Transportation Commission’s mon­thly meeting is scheduled for 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 6, in the R.A. Ward Transportation Building, 200 N.E. 21st St., Oklahoma City. Members of the public and media are invited to attend or watch the livestream video online.

Items to be addressed at the meeting:

  • The Oklahoma Department of Transportation will be presented with multiple industry awards, one specifically for the rehabilitation of the US-281/Route 66 Bridgeport Bridge in Canadian County completed in advance of the 2026 Centennial Celebration.
  • ODOT Executive Director Tim Gatz will provide an update to commissioners on multiple projects beginning this year that will have a major impact to traffic.
  • Gatz will reflect upon ODOT’s accomplishments and major milestones from 2024.

The commission, a nine-member panel appointed by the governor and legislative leaders to oversee the state’s transportation development, awards project contracts for road and bridge construction on a monthly basis.
