Remote Services for State Agency Employees and Library Card Holders

For State Government Employees

If you’re a state agency employee, ODL is your library!

If you haven’t discovered the Oklahoma Department of Libraries’ remote services, now is the right time. We have electronic resources to help you research topics for your job, for home improvement, or for your own enjoyment. We have reference resources to help your children with school work, a digital collection that helps you explore the state’s history, and an e-book collection where you just may find your next favorite book.

Unlock more resources with your ODL Library Card. Apply here. Card applications are processed during regular library hours, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Friday.

Also, you can borrow eBooks and audiobooks anytime! As a library cardholder, you can enjoy eBooks and audiobooks with your tablet, e-reader or smartphone. Download the Libby App to get started. You will use your library card number to connect and start borrowing from the comfort of your home or on the go.

With your card, you can also access numerous Online Resources available to you for free either remotely or in the library.

Digital Prairie is your gateway to ODL’s digital collections and some powerful EBSCO information and reference resources.

Our Research and Discovery page has resources for everyone in your family and all Oklahomans can access it for free from anywhere in the state. Topics include Health, Education, Business, Literature, Home Improvement, Hobbies and Crafts, and more. There are millions of magazine and journal articles at your fingertips. Our Explora and EBSCOhost Student Search topics will help the young students in your family connect with relevant resources for school and independent exploration.

Scroll down the main Digital Prairie page to view ODL’s Digital Collections. Access state publications at Documents.OK.Gov, investigate history with our Oklahoma Collection, and our Ada Lois Sipuel, and Tulsa Race Massacre collections. Open a window to the past with our Images of Oklahoma and Oklahoma Postcard collections.

Email us a reference question and we will get back to you. Or call us at 405-522-3505 Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. You can also contact us if you need to extend the checkout time for any materials you have.

Don’t forget your local public library offers a broad range of services and resources. Most offer online access to audiobooks, ebooks and sometimes even movies. Many are offering online story times, cooking presentations, exercise classes, scavenger hunts and more. Find your local public library and visit their website to see what services are available.
