HealthChoice information on care and coverage for COVID-19

HealthChoice takes member health and well-being very seriously. We are closely monitoring the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic and how it relates to you and your health plan benefits.  

Member coverage

As a HealthChoice member, benefits are available for COVID-19-related health concerns. HealthChoice continues to waive cost share for network and non-network services that result in COVID-19 diagnostic testing (at a provider’s office, via telehealth, urgent care or emergency department) through April 30, 2023.

Administration for FDA-approved COVID-19 vaccines are covered at no cost from a network provider. All other services are subject to deductible, coinsurance and plan provisions. Non-network services are also subject to balance billing.

Provider information

HealthChoice covers the administration for FDA-approved COVID-19 vaccines for network services as a preventive service with no cost share to members. For non-network services, FDA-approved COVID-19 vaccines and administration costs are covered with no cost sharing, including copays, deductible and coinsurance, to members through the end of the public health emergency.

For COVID-19 testing, HealthChoice continues to waive member cost share for all network and non-network office visits that result in COVID-19 diagnostic testing (at a provider’s office, via telehealth, urgent care or emergency department) including copays, deductible and coinsurance through April 30, 2023. All other services are processed per plan provisions. Non-network services are also subject to balance billing.
