CDC Announcement:
Sanofi Pasteur, the manufacturer of the only yellow fever vaccine (YF-Vax) licensed in the United States, expects to provide an update by the end of 2019 on the return to supply of YF-Vax.
**NOTICE**
At this time there is a Nation-wide shortage of the Yellow Fever Vaccine (YF-Vax). In light of this shortage Sanofi Pasteur has coordinated with the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and other stakeholders on a contingency plan. They have been granted approval by FDA to distribute Stamaril yellow fever vaccine in the United States during the YF-Vax shortage. Also produced by Sanofi Pasteur, Stamaril is licensed and marketed in more than 70 countries outside the United States. Stamaril has been used in other countries for decades and is comparable in safety and efficacy to YF-Vax. Sanofi Pasteur can provide Stamaril to only a limited number of clinics, which were selected on the basis of quantity of yellow fever vaccine administered. Two sites have been authorized by Sanofi Pasteur in Oklahoma to order Yellow Fever Vaccine (Tulsa City County Health Department and Passport Health in Oklahoma City) at this time.
You may still want to go through the Yellow Fever Vaccination Center approval process so when the Yellow Fever Vaccine (YF-Vax) shortage ends you will have your stamp and center designation completed.
