Diagnostic X-Ray Permits

***Late fees for CHS occupational and establishment licenses have been waived during the Governor's Declaration of Emergency per emergency rules drafted by the Department. Late fees will return at the expiration of the Declaration of Emergency.


This program was created to protect the general public, health care employees, and patients from excessive radiation emitted from diagnostic x-ray equipment. Our mission is to minimize exposure to radiation encountered by these individuals. 

Program staff test diagnostic x-ray equipment for proper functioning, make practitioners and health care workers aware of proper techniques to minimize exposure, and monitor procedures utilized during diagnostic x-ray examinations.

"Diagnostic x-ray system" means an x-ray system designed for irradiation of any part of the body for the purpose of diagnosis or visualization.

"X-ray tube" means any electron tube which is designed to be used primarily for the production of x-rays.
