NEW: Per the January 13, 2021 Executive Order from Governor Stitt, all CHS occupational licenses that have been extended through any previous executive order will expire on January 30, 2021. All renewals must be processed with 14 days of that date (February 13, 2021). If renewals are not submitted by Feb 13th, 2021, the license will be considered expired and be subject to enforcement actions. This change will not affect late fees, which due to the ongoing pandemic have been waived for all CHS occupational and establishment licenses per emergency rules promulgated by the department. See emergency rules here.
Guidance to assist medical micropigmentation licensees in reopening to the public after restrictions from the Governor's Executive Order are lifted. Medical micropigmentation operations may resume on May 1st.
Please check with your local municipality for rules related to reopening, as they may have additional requirements.
Medical Micropigmentation Certification Program
Medical micropigmentation is a form of permanent cosmetics and requires a medical procedure in which any color or pigment is applied with a needle or electronic machine. The law authorizing medical micropigmentation does not include tattooing; thus, medical micropigmentation does not involve placing on the body any pictures, images, numbers, signs, letters of the alphabet or designs.
Medical Micropigmentation may only be performed in a physician’s office by an individual who holds a current Oklahoma certificate issued by the State Commissioner of Health pursuant to the provisions of the Oklahoma Medical Micropigmentation Regulation Act while working under the supervision of a physician. The level of supervision shall be determined by the physician.
