Oklahoma State Department of Health Announces New Regional Director for Alfalfa, Garfield, Grant, Ma

After an extensive search, Maggie Jackson has been named Regional Director for the Alfalfa, Garfield, Grant, Major and Woods counties. That position had been filled by a combination of interim directors for the past year. The announcement was made by Oklahoma State Department of Health (OSDH) Deputy Commissioner for Community Health Keith Reed.
“This hire is important to our commitment to provide core public health services in this region and Maggie has a strong working knowledge of this area,” said Reed. “Our interim directors, Terri Salisbury and Kelli Rader have done an excellent job in maintaining our services during the search for a permanent director and they can now turn full attention to their own areas.”
Jackson is taking over the position after previously serving as a regional Turning Point partnership consultant and a health educator with the Garfield County Health Department. She is passionate about northwest Oklahoma and improving health outcomes in her community. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry and Spanish from Oklahoma State University and a Master of Public Health (MPH) from the University of Oklahoma.
She and husband Nick are business owners in Enid. They have two daughters and a Chinese Crested dog named Hugo.
“I’m honored to have the opportunity to bring my business experience and public health knowledge to serve my home communities in this region,” Jackson said.
Jackson will begin her duties as regional director on October 1.
