Immunization Services
The McClain County Health Departments offer immunizations during normal business hours:
*Insurance Announcement*
Beginning on July 10, 2014, Oklahoma State Department of Health (OSDH)began accepting private insurance for payment of adult and child immunizations. Please present a copy of your Photo ID and current insurance card at check-in. A claim will be submitted to your insurance company for reimbursement, and you will be notified with a statement from OSDH of your responsibility for any co-pays, deductibles, or charges that are denied by your insurance company. Some sliding scale fees may apply.
Payment is not required for services. Please do not allow your inability to pay restrict future visits.
The McClain County Health Department continues to NOT charge a fee for Vaccines For Children (VFC) eligible children through the age of 18. (eligibility requirements)
Childhood Immunizations
The McClain County Health Department does not charge a fee for Vaccine For Children (VFC) eligible children through the age of 18 (eligibility requirements).
If your child has private insurance, a claim may be submitted to your insurance company for reimbursement. You will be notified with a statement from OSDH of your responsibility for any co-pays, deductibles or charges that are denied by your insurance company. Please review your insurance coverage prior to your visit. Services will not be denied based on an inability to pay. Please do not allow your inability to pay restrict future visits.
The following immunizations are available for children through the age of 18:
• DTap, TDaP and TD (tetanus, diphtheria, acellular pertussis; tetanus and diphtheria)
• Flu
• Haemophilus Influenza (Hib)
• Hepatitis A and B
• MMR (measles, mumps, rubella)
• Polio
• Varicella (chickenpox)
The following vaccines may not be available:
• Rotavirus
• Pneumoccal conjugage vaccine (PCV13)
• Meningitis
• HPV (human papilloma virus)
What should I bring to an immunization visit?
• When coming in for immunizations, be sure to bring a current copy of your shot records with you. This makes it easier for our staff to see which shots you need, and it also helps decrease your waiting time.
• Also, if you are accompanying a minor other than your own, please make sure to have a letter of authorization or guardianship. This allows our staff to give shots to that individual.
Your wait time will vary depending on the type of immunizations that are needed. Our staff works hard to ensure the proper vaccinations are given to you and your family.
How can I get copies of my child’s shot records?
If you or your child have ever received immunizations through any county health department and you need a copy of that shot record, you may request a copy at the front desk. Adult Immunization Services
The McClain County Health Department provides adult immunizations to insured and non-insured individuals. Based on federal grants, age restrictions, insurance, sliding scale fees, etc., charges may be applied. Please call us at (405) 527-6541 Purcell or (405) 485-3319 Blanchard with questions. The following adult immunizations are available:
• Flu
• Hepatitis A (series of 2 doses) Based on availability
• Hepatitis B (series of 3 doses) Based on availability
• MMR (measles, mumps, rubella)
• TDaP and TD (tetanus, diphtheria, acellular pertussis; tetanus and diphtheria)
• Varicella (chicken pox vaccine)
• Gardasil (HPV vaccine, series of 3 doses)
• Meningitis
• Pneumococcal Disease
• Zostavax (shingles vaccine)

Influenza (Flu) Shot Information
McClain County clinics will provide flu shots, typically starting in mid to late October on an appointment basis during normal business hours. Please contact us for availability.

Flu vaccine will be available for anyone who wants to be protected from influenza. The shot is recommended for everyone 6 months of age and older. Persons at high risk of serious complications from flu are strongly encouraged to get the flu vaccine, including pregnant women and people with asthma, diabetes, chronic heart and lung disease, or other chronic conditions. Parents and family members of babies less than 6 months of age and people who live with or care for anyone at high risk for complications from the flu, including health care workers, should also get the vaccine.
