Childbirth Education Classes

Birth Partners of Cleveland County is excited to offer FREE childbirth education classes to pregnant individuals, their families, and their labor support persons. The childbirth education classes deliver helpful information for any birth setting, including hospitals and birth centers. Classes provide a shared space to learn more about labor and birth.

Participants will receive an Understanding Birth booklet + App access. Snacks included.

To register for a class please complete the registration form.

Additional consent forms and paperwork will need to be completed in person.  

Pregnancy: Fetal development, anatomy, discomforts, nutrition, preterm labor, emotions, stretching exercises

Labor: pre-labor signs, onset of labor, stages of labor, and the importance of skin-to-skin contact.

Birth Stories: How the stages of labor unfold in real life, natural coping techniques, medicated pain relief, and partner support.

Comfort Techniques: Labor support, breathing, relaxation, massage, labor & pushing positions, back labor, and partner advice.

Medical Procedures: Birth plans, decision-making, induction, and nonmedical alternatives.

Cesarean Birth: Reasons for a cesarean, risks, recovery, breastfeeding, family-centered birth tips.

Newborns: Newborn hospital procedures, skin-to-skin contact, first feeding

Postpartum: baby blues, postpartum depression, healthy habits, breastfeeding, and getting support.
