School and Child Care Setting Resources
Schools and child care settings can play a vital role in preventing the spread of communicable diseases. This can be accomplished by providing health education to students, child care center attendees, and parents on topics such as hand hygiene, and appropriately excluding ill children from the school and child care setting.
The Acute Disease Service has created infographics on various disease and hygiene topics to assist schools and child care settings in preventing the spread of disease. These infographics will be helpful for school staff including school nurses and administrators, as well as children and parents.
The Acute Disease Service Epidemiologist-on-Call is available 24/7/365 at (405) 426-8710 to answer communicable disease questions, and to provide assistance with suspected outbreaks of disease.
