Jackson County Health Department Services

Jackson County Health Department is pleased to provide a variety of services across the life span.  We offer services equally to men, women, and children.

You may fill out and bring this client information worksheet with you to the clinic. If you don't know where to turn for medical care, please call and we will try to help you find services.

  • Children First
    • Children First, Oklahoma's Nurse-Family Partnership is a voluntary family support program that offers home-based services to mothers expecting their first child. Services are provided by appointment only. Call (405) 247-2507 for an appointment.
  • Dental Health
    • No direct dental care is provided at the health department. Fluoride varnish is provided to those 18 years of age and younger. Fluoride varnish is a dental treatment that can help prevent tooth decay, slow it down, or stop it from getting worse. Fluoride varnish is made with fluoride, a mineral that can strengthen tooth enamel (outer coating on teeth). For more information please call the Caddo County Health Department at (405) 247-2507 or toll free (866) 347-2507.  
  • Family Planning
    • Family planning helps prevent unplanned pregnancies. We help families and individuals to plan and space their children. These services are available to both women and men.
  • Screening and Special Services
    • Caddo County Health Department provides Newborn Screening, Newborn Hearing Screening, Lead Screening and follow-up services for eligible Caddo County infants, children and their families. For more information or to make an appointment call 405-247-2507.
  • Sooner Start - Early Intervention
    • Sooner Start is Oklahoma’s early intervention program designed to meet the needs of infants and toddlers with disabilities and/or developmental delays.

  • WIC
    • Program provides access to nutritious foods to supplement the diets of women, infants, and children. WIC offers information about healthy eating and promotes active lifestyles.
    • Due to the Coronavirus pandemic and for the safety of our staff and clients no group classes are being held at this time.  WIC services are being provided over the phone (405) 247-2507.

Communicable Diseases

  • Recognize and prevent communicable disease outbreaks such as food and waterborne illness, tuberculosis, and childhood diseases.
  • Rash & Head Checks
    • RNs provide a visual examination based on symptoms for rash differentiation and head lice control. Staff is not able to treat either head lice or rashes. No medication is provided from the health department. Staff is able to provide referrals as indicated. For questions or to make an appointment please call (405) 247-2507.
 

HIV/STD (STI)

  • Program concentrates on screening, diagnosing, educating, treating, individual case management, and referral services for those at increased risk for sexually transmitted infections.
  • Fast Track STD/STI clinics (no symptoms, short wait time, self-collection lab for Gonorrhea & Chlamydia, no exam)

Immunizations

  • We offer immunizations for children as well as select immunizations for adults that may require a minimum fee to protect individuals from serious communicable diseases.
  • DTAP, IPV, Hepatitis A & B, Pneumococcal, Td/Tdap, Flu, Meningococcal, HIB, MMR, Varicella, HPV, Shingles, Rotavirus

Tuberculosis

  • Caddo County Staff identify and treat tuberculosis patients and insure appropriate measures are taken to prevent the occurrence and transmission of tuberculosis.

Community Health Education

  • Our community health education services provide access to free health publications and presentations and classes taught by knowledgeable staff regarding a variety of health-related topics.

School Health 

  • Caddo County Health Department staff can serve as consultants for local schools regarding physical and mental health. For more information, contact (405) 247-2507.

Consumer Health

  • Caddo County Consumer Health Service protects the health of consumers and prevents disease through the licensing, inspecting, and monitoring of multiple professional, occupational and business programs.

Medicaid Eligibility Analyst

  • The Caddo County Health Department offers services to determine financial eligibility for low income individuals and to complete an electronic application for Oklahoma Medicaid.
