Family Planning
Purpose
Family planning helps prevent unplanned pregnancies. We help families and individuals to plan and space their children. These services are available to both women and men.
Services for females include:
- physical examination
- pap smears and breast exams
- screening for sexually transmitted diseases and HIV
- birth control
- pregnancy diagnosis
- counseling and referrals.
Services for males include:
- physical examination
- instructions in testicular self-exams
- screening for sexually transmitted diseases and HIV
- education and counseling on methods to prevent pregnancy
- counseling and referrals
- condoms available upon request

The primary areas within the Perinatal and Reproductive Health Division include: the Family Planning Program (pregnancy planning, birth control), the Maternity Program (prenatal care, nutrition counseling, referrals), Preventive Health Education for men and women, Fetal and Infant Mortality Review and Maternal Mortality Review.

Enrollment Criteria
Services are provided on a voluntary and confidential basis to men and women of reproductive age. There is a focus for those who are uninsured and do not qualify for Medicaid (Sooner Care).
Fees
A sliding scale is used. Fees are based on income. No one is refused services based on inability to pay. Some insurance plans are accepted.
Hours
Family Planning:
Monday through Friday
8:00 to 4:00 excluding State holidays.
Pregnancy Testing:
Clients who make appointments will have priority. Walk-ins will be seen based on staff availability. In order to better serve you, please call to check service availability (580) 248-5890.
How to make an appointment
Family Planning exams are available by appointment only. Call (580) 248-5890 to schedule your appointment.
For other Family Planning Services including pill pick-up, method changes, and Depo-Provera injections clients who make appointments will have priority. Walk-ins are welcome.
Parental consent is not necessary but highly recommended.

Services provided by various members of the Health Department team (Advanced Nurse Practitioner, Registered Nurses, Patient Care Assistants, Social Workers, Nutritionists, and Clerical)
