OKLAHOMA CITY (January 30, 2026) - Governor Kevin Stitt issued the following statement after Border Czar Tom presented a drawdown strategy for ICE in Minnesota.
"I applaud Border Czar Tom Homan's leadership this week offering a clear partnership between the federal government and states. Putting a fresh set of eyes on the environment was the right decision,” said Governor Stitt. “We must uphold the law and protect Americans."
"Oklahoma's partnership with federal agents has led us to turn over more than 1,250 criminal immigrants in or passing through our state in the past year, the third largest immigration apprehension in the nation. For 20 years, Republicans emphasized that we must close the border and then reform our immigration system to drive clarity and certainty for our workforce. This should be our end game now that President Trump has delivered on a closed border."
