Governor Stitt Amends Emergency Declaration, Adds Beaver, Canadian, Grady, Hughes, McIntosh, and Oklahoma Counties after Derecho

OKLAHOMA CITY (June 22, 2026) - Today, Governor Kevin Stitt amended an executive order adding Beaver, Canadian, Grady, Hughes, McIntosh, and Oklahoma Counties to a disaster declaration after a derecho caused considerable damage to public and private property in across the state.

“Damage assessments are still ongoing. Oklahomans can help by quickly assessing any damage on their property and reporting it to state and local emergency managers,” said Governor Stitt. “Thank you to the first responders who are working quickly to clear debris and keeping Oklahomans safe.”

The executive order extends the State of Emergency to newly impacted counties and directs state agencies to make resources available, to the reasonable extent necessary, to protect lives and prevent, minimize, and repair injury and damage. These efforts will be coordinated by the Oklahoma Department of Emergency Management in partnership with state and local jurisdictions and federal partners as needed.

Governor Stitt and Emergency Management officials strongly encourage Oklahomans to report their damage at damage.ok.gov if their home or business have been impacted.

Oklahoma Emergency Management and county emergency managers are still assessing damage and counties may be added to the declaration as damage information becomes available.
