Anadarko Public Schools

Program Abstract:

Our "REACHOUT" Program (Reinforcing Education Afterschool Creates Hope, Opportunity, Understanding, and Tradition) will provide academic enrichment programs to help increase student achievement in reading, math, STEM, and other subjects. Students will receive academic enrichment through homework help, tutoring, Native American cultural activities, field trips, financial literacy, health and physical education activities, art, and music.

The REACHOUT Program will host family nights and parent education activities to help connect our teachers, students and parents. Our STEM curriculum will include activities to expand on those taught and provide activities not available during regular school hours, such as robotics, engineering design, drones, and other areas of student interest. Facilities and transportation will be provided by Anadarko Public Schools. 

Checotah Public Schools

Program Abstract:

Our goal is to create a welcoming and secure learning environment that fosters self-esteem by treating each child with respect and ensuring that they experience success. Our aim is to provide a learning environment that helps children develop coping skills and realize that mistakes are opportunities to learn. We will also involve parents in this program so that students see the school and parents are equal partners supporting them in their success. 

Our 21st CCLC program aims to address the unique challenges faced by students in rural communities. We believe that every student deserves access to quality enrichment experiences, regardless of their location or socio-economic status. That's why we plan to build a strong academic foundation for our students and provide them with diverse opportunities to explore STEM, art, music, physical education, and other subjects.  

Colcord Public Schools

Program Abstract:

Colcord Schools, at the edge of the Ozarks in Northeastern Oklahoma, will implement SWARM enrichment, a traditional 21st CCLC program. The program will provide students with focused academic mentoring to strengthen their math and reading skills, daily hands-on enrichment activities to reinforce classwork, tutoring to improve attendance and class involvement, and a third meal for all students attending.   

Key community partners have been integral in our program planning. They pledge project support throughout the grant. Their contributions will extend the program’s impact by removing obstacles that might typically be present in communities like ours. The natural outdoor setting at New Life Ranch will be the site for leadership activities, professional development, Oklahoma Department of Wildlife-sponsored family engagement, and outdoor educational events. The Cherokee Nation offers art and culture programs, and Delaware County's OSU extension agency provides fun and challenging programming.

Idabel Public Schools

Program Abstract:

In our community, where 92% of students are on free and reduced lunch and over 70% of families live below the poverty line, the need for support and opportunity is palpable. Many of our children face challenges beyond the classroom, grappling with the harsh realities of poverty daily. This 21st CCLC grant is not just about academic enrichment; it's a lifeline for those who feel trapped in the cycle of poverty. By offering mentoring, remedial education, and academic enrichment, we aim to empower these children, providing them with the tools they need to break free from the constraints of their circumstances. Education isn't just about learning; it's about hope, opportunity, and the chance for a better future.

Kingfisher Public Schools

Program Abstract:

Rising STARS will provide learning opportunities during non-school hours for youth and families to participate in a wide range of activities that are academic, arts-based, civically oriented, health- and wellness-related, and recreational. Additionally, multiple methods of instruction will be used that allow youth a range of learning experiences. Programming will be intentionally designed to promote academic growth and the overall well-being of participants. Rising STARS will provide the extended day and extended year model, which demonstrates increased student growth academically on district and state assessments. Program offerings reflect the interests of youth and enable them to explore new areas of interest. Rising STARS' family focus is providing literacy and related educational development to parents and caregivers.

Poteau Public Schools

Poteau Public Schools is proud to present Pirate Quest! Program Abstract:

Super, Powerful, Sharp (SPS) Kids Club partners school, home, and community to extend learning opportunities beyond the regular school day and summers for children. The SPS Kids Club will serve Sequoyah and Will Rogers Elementary (grades K-5) and will offer a safe afterschool and summer learning environment as well as snacks, academic assistance, STEM enrichment, student choice clubs, leadership clubs, field trips, and community service opportunities.

This program is an investment in the future for Shawnee students, giving children engaging evidence-based learning activities, parental support and guidance, and activities aligned with Oklahoma Academic Standards. Parents will be offered educational activities and skill areas identified by surveys and provided training to assist their children in a safe and enriching learning environment. Staff will be trained in best practices to meet the program goals.

Stratford Public Schools

Program Abstract:

The mission of the Stratford SAFE Program is Student Achievement through Focused Education. Our 21st CCLC program will serve PK-8th grade students and their families, and will be structured around the principles of the WSCC (Whole School, Whole Community, Whole Child) model, which integrates health and wellness with academic achievement to foster the development of the whole child.

Through collaboration with schools, community organizations, and local stakeholders, we will implement a range of activities and services designed to support the academic, physical, and overall well-being of participants.  Key components of our program include Academic Enrichment, Health and Wellness Promotion, and Family and Community Engagement.  This grant will enable us to launch and sustain our 21st CCLC program, reaching underserved populations and making a meaningful difference in the lives of participants and their communities.

Dahlonegah Public Schools

Program Abstract:

Dahlonegah Public School’s afterschool program will be a one-site program intended to serve students in grades PK-8. The theme for the 21st CCLC program is Gadugi, a Cherokee word meaning "come together and work to help one another". The program’s goal is to work together to help students and families by focusing on student-centered academic programs aligned with Oklahoma Academic Standards targeting literacy and math. Gadugi enables students to grow academically and participate in activities with adult mentors. Cherokee culture, wellness, nutrition, leadership, and STEM enrichment will prepare students for success beyond Dahlonegah. They will partner with the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation Outdoor Education Program to connect students to nature and the environment.

Fort Cobb-Broxton Public Schools

Fort Cobb-Broxton Public Schools will offer afterschool programs catering to students from kindergarten through 12th grade. The funding allocated for this initiative will be channeled to introduce external resources that are currently lacking in this rural school district. This program's primary objective is to enhance academic performance by providing tutoring, homework assistance, and immersive, hands-on enrichment activities designed to bolster reading and mathematics skills. In addition to academics the program will offer family engagement opportunities.

Idabel Public Schools

By investing in career development, STEM education, ELL programs, expanded library hours, drug and violence prevention programs, and literacy instruction with remediation, they strive to empower their students to thrive academically, socially, and personally.

Lawton Public Schools

With Ready, Set, Hired! the Lawton school district will provide extended learning opportunities at Lawton High School and MacArthur High School through academic supports, such as tutoring and credit recovery programs, a broad range of enrichment activities, career exploration, and community/family events. Afterschool clubs and labs will be offered daily to support core subjects, learn life-ready skills, and explore careers with local industry professionals. Some focuses for sessions/activities will be life skills, character education, arts, healthy and active lifestyles, tutoring, STEM, and career explorations that familiarize students with career/college pathways associated with their interests.

Maryetta Public School

Program Abstract:

Maryetta Elementary School and the Boys and Girls Club of Adair County Schools will expand on services to local children by offering before-school, after-school, and summer programs that focus on academic, social, civic, and physical well-being. The Full STEAM Ahead project will use their collaborative experience to conduct a program that will have positive effects in the lives of Maryetta students. The Full STEAM Ahead program will provide sound curriculum and activities, including 1) tutoring; 2) a safe and drug-free site for children after school; 3) family- and community-based projects such as Family Reading Nights that will encourage collaboration; 4) educational activities that will increase students' proficiency in reading, language arts, mathematics, social studies, music, and art; 5) entrepreneurial enrichment; and 6) a focus on STEAM-related enrichment.

Moyers Public Schools

The program will focus on academics, project-based learning, health and wellness, and college and career readiness.

Sand Springs Public Schools

The Sand Springs Public School District program, “Full STEAM Ahead", is based on a figure of speech meaning continuously moving forward with full force. The program will focus on STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts, and Mathematics), but will also incorporate literacy. Angus Valley Elementary and Limestone Technology Academy will provide high quality learning opportunities and community engagement to approximately 200 children and their families through: 1) a summer program known as Project Summer Spirit (PSS); and 2) an after-school program known as Full STEAM Ahead (FSA).

The University of Tulsa

The University of Tulsa’s program, True Blue Neighbors-Youth Scholars, has been serving the Kendall-Whittier neighborhood since 2009. True Blue Neighbors-Youth Scholars is a high-quality 21st CCLC program that synchronizes the efforts of Kendall-Whittier Elementary School (KWE) community partners. 250 Youth Scholars will participate throughout the school year, and in summer camp, Maximum Impact, doubling the KWE impact on out-of-school-time support for at-risk students. True Blue Neighbors-Youth Scholars delivers student-centered enrichment activities that improve academic achievement, attendance, behavior, and better engage students and their families, leveraging the impact of The University of Tulsa’s civic engagement efforts.

Youth at Heart

Program Abstract:

Youth At Heart (YAH)’s Afterschool Program serves children in grades PK-5 that attend Title 1, low-performing schools in the Tulsa Public Schools District. The afterschool program combines enrichment, education, and interest-based clubs to provide an array of opportunities for young people. The expanded learning focus includes S.T.E.A.M. (science, technology, engineering, arts, and math), tutoring, mentoring, physical fitness, health and nutrition. These focus areas provide children opportunities for exposure to life beyond their environment to shape their worldview.

Agra Public School

Program Abstract:

Agra Elementary School’s Every Child Counts afterschool program will be a one-site project available to students in grades PK-6 focusing on the needs of the school and community. The program is based on the goals of the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA), especially those relating to poverty and students receiving special education, through three main components: academic enrichment, focusing on enrichment programs like IXL and Lexia to provide remediation to bolster student performance in the classroom. Positive Life Choices, our programs will provide assistance to parents through family guidance, literacy programs, parenting skills programs and programs designed to support a healthy and active lifestyle, including nutritional education; and Parental Involvement because the Every Child Counts program believes that a critical part of the educational journey for the child begins and ends with the parent by providing opportunities to interact with their children as tutors and co-learners.

Bishop Public School

Program Abstract:

Bishop's 21st CCLC Program will focus on student achievement, student social and emotional well-being, as well as, sportsmanship, technology, and health. Bishop will partner with the Boys and Girls Club of America, Lawton to ensure that students have the opportunity to take part in the community and school-related activities. The program will consist of clubs such as robotics, chess, theatre, nutrition, 4-H, and an assortment of sports. Tutoring by highly qualified teachers will be provided not only to Bishop students but also to the Boys and Girls Club of America, Lawton. More than six outside community agencies will help provide opportunities for student growth in the areas of Art, Music, Financial Literacy, Nutrition, and Agriculture.

Bokoshe School District

Program Abstract:

The Bokoshe Public Schools 21stCCLC program is designed to increase students' academic achievement and school attendance, while providing a safe place for students during afterschool, summer, and school breaks. The program will focus on students in grades Pre-K through 12th at the elementary and high school sites who need intentional intervention to improve academically and socially. Along with the community partners and the Advisory Committee members program design focuses on reading, math, science intervention, academic enrichment, STEM project-based activities, tutoring, art/music, nutrition, and recreation activities. The program will offer a total of 158 days of instruction, with 139 days of afterschool (3:00-5:30); 15 days of summer school (8:00-1:00); and 4 days of school break for educational field trips. Students and parents will have opportunities to learn together through family literacy, parenting activities and community service projects.

Boys and Girls Club of Red River Valley

Program Abstract:

The program will hold after school and summer sessions for approximately 120 children in first through fifth grades, targeting low performing and/or economically disadvantaged students. Students will be encouraged to meet their goals through remediation, exploration, and enrichment. All Project Learn-STEAM Initiative programming will be hands on, providing an active learning atmosphere. Math, science, technology, art, and engineering sessions will be developed collaboratively by classroom teachers and after school staff in an effort to supplement and support school day instruction. Community partners will present lessons in character education, nutrition and health, technology, and Native culture. Parents will be engaged through a series of interactive virtual and face-to-face events to strengthen school, Project Learn-STEAM Initiative Program, and family relationships. The parent series will include topics such as nutrition, meal planning, couponing, financial literacy, and adult mental health.

Clinton Public Schools

The focus of the program is to provide targeted remediation in reading and math, enrichment in reading, math, STEM, career explorations, lifetime physical activities, SEL supports, and fine arts experiences. REDS 365 will operate in furtherance of the district's mission of developing academic and non-academic systems where all students learn at high levels and in support of developing well-rounded students who thrive in their lives at Clinton Public Schools and beyond. The program will bring dynamic learning experiences to students in a year-round program that partners with Clinton Summer Playground, a long-established community partner.

Coalgate Public Schools

Program Abstract:

Coalgate seeks funding for an elementary learning center to half or reverse negative conditions and provide its children access to the intellectual, cultural, and health-enhancing activities critical to learning and maturation. Coalgate's Emerson Elementary learning center will target 234 at-risk and low performing students in Pre-K – 6th, but will serve all 335 students who choose to participate. The goals of the project mirror the state and national goals. Strategies include 1) an aggressive attempt to reverse unhealthy conditions that are at the root of poor performance, 2) scientifically research-based curricula infused with consequential enrichment, 3) tutoring, mentoring, and homework help, and 4) community outreach that serves both families and children. Expected outcomes are improved academic performance, decreased absences, decreased behavior referrals, healthier behaviors, increased teacher competencies, greater parental participation, and improved client satisfaction.

Eufaula Public Schools

Program Abstract:

Elementary and middle school students in the Eufaula school district will be served by Project BEACON. It will target 533 students, of which 230 are expected to be regular attendees. The project will meet needs of students by providing activities that offer significant learning opportunities during after-school and summer school hours. The following activities will be components of the program: 1) remedial education and academic enrichment activities in reading/language arts, math, science, social studies, art and music, through tutoring, homework assistance, and computer-assisted instruction, including limited English proficient students; 2) integrated education, health, social service, recreational, and cultural programs; 3) physical education and wellness; 4) technology education; 5) drug/alcohol awareness and prevention programs and activities; 6) parent involvement and family literacy; and 7) expanded library hours.

Grand View School

Program Abstract:

Grand View School, the Cherokee Nation, and community partners will initiate a student and community reform project called Do Your Best + that will put students on track for college and career success, beginning in their Pre-K years. The 21st Century Community Learning Center will address student needs through tutoring, mentoring, enrichment, support, research-based curricula, and highly trained teachers. The program will be coordinated with a current Do Your Best youth community initiative that was implemented last year. Unique components that will combine social-emotional learning, parent engagement, active learning, and inquiry-based learning will include Leader in Me training, reading remediation before and after school, STEM enrichment, family service events, and college and career preparation. Outcomes will include increased academic achievement, fewer behavior referrals, improved school attendance, and better student engagement.

Jay Public Schools

Program Abstract:

The 21st CCLC J Club program exists to provide our students and community with a safe out-of-school environment focused on academic achievement and whole-child enrichment opportunities. Through ongoing, positive relationships with our dedicated staff, school-day teachers, and partners, J Club provides a morning Breakfast Club, After-school experiential learning clubs, and Summer Learning Academies. The goal of these programs is to deliver effective, research-based strategies that encourage healthy minds, bodies, and habits. Through sustained collaboration with our community partners, programs are offered that foster service-learning opportunities and promote leadership with the community. In order to address learning loss and promote social-emotional well-being while meeting the individual needs of each child, J Club offers the services of counselors, reading specialists, and provides positive peer and adult mentors that encourage meaningful connections for students and families.

Kinta School District

Program Abstract:

Kinta students face many barriers to success in school and life. This project will provide methods to face and overcome those barriers and remove the school from the list of state Priority Schools. With the help of partner agencies, Kinta Public Schools will develop a system of care for K-12 student that will equip them with these methods. Regularly attending students will develop confidence in their ability to set and meet short-term and long-term goals. Objectives of this program include but are not limited to: improvement on state standardized tests, improvement in the classroom, increased student confidence in classroom performance, decreased behavior incidents among program participants, increased school attendance rates, development of a safe place for children after school and in the summer, increase of parental improvement in student learning, leadership training for students, and development of civic activities.

Osage Hills School

Program Abstract:

The key elements of the OHS-SMASH (Strong Minds And Strong Hearts) program are: 1) A strong academic program (Strong Minds) to help every participating student grow in content, critical thinking & work habit skills. This academic program includes core content areas, and STEAM, but expands beyond classroom content to "in the field" applications/activities for core content & related academic areas. 2) Social-emotional supports (Strong Hearts) for students & families that include counselors, a Behavior Health Coach, & research-based curricular lessons to help students & families manage & develop coping skills for stress, anxiety, bullying, motivation, & trauma. 3) A health & wellness component that features community partnerships with experts in health, wellness, and fitness to promote healthy lifestyle choices that build stronger, healthier families which will lead to greater student achievement & success. Our Whole School, Whole Community, Whole Child approach will provide students with hands-on, project-based enrichment opportunities while providing students and families with the skills necessary to live a healthy life.

Ringling Public Schools

Program Abstract:

Blue Devils Achieving Together (BDAT) is a 21st Century Community Learning Center that meets the needs of students, families, and the community of Ringling, Oklahoma. The program will continue to provide tutoring, mentoring, educational activities, physical fitness, drug and alcohol education, and cultural programs. This program will allow for students and parents to work together to achieve education goals. The program will have community partners including: Jefferson County OSU Extension Office, Gleason Memorial Library, First Bank and Trust Co., City of Ringling, Ringling Fire Department, Chickasaw Nation, Valero, Stewart Farms, and the Jefferson County Sheriff's Department. BDAT will continue to meet the needs of students from Pre-Kindergarten through the Ninth Grade. Students will be able to receive remediation and enrichment activities that will assist in increasing student achievement in creative and innovative ways.

Tahlequah Public Schools

Program Abstract:

The purpose of the joint venture between Tahlequah and Briggs schools -- the TLC program -- is to use after-school and summer hours to support students in their endeavors to be successful in mastering Oklahoma's rigorous academic standards through expanded experiential learning and targeted support. Support of this purpose will be multi-faceted, using multiple methods of enriching and enhancing student learning with activities and experiences of which children in poverty are typically deprived. Briggs serves as a feeder school to Tahlequah, which makes the partnership vital. The learning centers will have remediation and homework help for students, as well as a component to expand parent literacy and other abilities in order to better help their children academically. Project-based learning will be used with programs such as Robotics, Science Fair experiments, gardening, and cooking. Special focus will be given to EL, migrant, homeless, and students in poverty.

Temple Public Schools

Program Abstract:

Nearly 31% of students are identified as special needs and 60% of K-3 grade students receive remediation. The Learn. Live. Do 2 project will help the district address these academic needs as well as other student and adult needs in the area. In 2016, the Elementary School was placed on the state Priority School list. The district used the previous 21st CCLC to address that need, and the result was the district's removal from the priority list. This project will build off those successes, and use community partners to provide a rich, engaging afterschool atmosphere that encourages student and family participation in learning academic content, doing hands-on activities, and living as responsible, productive citizens.

Tulsa Debate League

The mission of the Tulsa Debate League is to provide students in Title 1 schools with the opportunity to participate in debate programs that build the critical thinking, communication, and literacy skills to succeed in college and career, and to become engaged citizens in our democracy. This 21st Century Community Learning Center will address academic barriers and chronic absenteeism through a focus on high engagement, youth voice-led programming in the areas of enrichment, academic intervention, health and wellness, and self-exploration. Students will be significant improvement in academic achievement scores as measured by accepted benchmarks, as well as improved school attendance and engagement. The core program will feature daily debate practice, tutoring/homework help in core subjects, as well as, a host of other choices ranging from STEM to recreational sports and the creative arts.

The goal of the Wister Bright Futures 21st Century Community Learning Center is increased educational attainment, wellness, and social skills development among students and their families by extending the school day and year. The Wister Public Library has agreed to work with the district in providing a well-rounded extended day and summer program that enables students to succeed academically and in life. Students most in need of improved academic achievement will be recruited for the program. These students who face barriers common to those who are minority or disadvantaged will receive intense tutoring and positive reinforcement that they cannot receive elsewhere. The program will target and serve 185 regularly attending students from Kindergarten to 12th grade, and will extend its services to all 492 students, their families, and area adults. The goal of the program is to empower participants to plan for the Bright Futures in all areas of life.

ExSTREAM provides Enrichments to students (EE) which is a comprehensive Science, Technology, Reading, Engineering, Art and Math program that is "Ex"posing our kids to amazing Enrichments above and beyond the school day. With our free afterschool and summer programs, our Pre-k - 4th grade students will get to experience a wide variety of clubs and activities that will not only create exposure to new subjects/knowledge but also strengthen them academically, mentally, socially, physically, and emotionally. EE will provide time for homework help and/or opportunities for students to pick and choose academic centers that reinforce foundational skills they learned during the school day. Within each enrichment offered students will get to develop 21st Century skills (communication, collaboration, critical thinking, and creativity) which will prepare them to be more productive and successful individuals. Family nights will also be offered to engage families with their child.

Atoka Public Schools has established Project SAFE: Staying After for Excellence as a proposed 21st Century Community Learning Center. Atoka administrators started the program out of necessity - they were concerned about student academic performance and wanted to devise a program that addressed that problem. In the past year, a project advisory committee has been formed to implement a program that would take Project SAFE to the next level. The program will include enrichment activities that will stimulate students' minds and increase their proficiency in core subject areas of reading, language arts, mathematics, social studies, music and art.Innovative activities such as aviation enrichment and STEM camps will entice and interest students from pre-Kindergarten through 5th grade. A special emphasis will be placed on activities that enhance students' critical thinking skills and appreciation of wellness activities and community service.

Cave Springs Public Schools

Program Abstract:

The Cave Springs district is besieged by high poverty and social barriers to success. Out of Oklahoma's 77 counties, Adair County is one of the ten worst in single-parent families, number of teen mothers, illiteracy, school dropouts, substance abuse, juvenile offenses, and child neglect. The school's 158 students - 100% of whom qualify for Free and Reduced Lunches - will be served by the project. Needs that arise from poverty make their way into the academic setting. Teachers have not received targeted professional development for at-risk student performance. Students often go home after school with no intention and no chance of preparing for the following school day. The Cave Springs project was designed by an advisory committee that first identified needs, identified state standards associated with those needs, and then matched resources and strategies to meet those needs. This project will not only remove barriers, it will propel students to success in college and career.

Checotah Public Schools

Checotah Public Schools, primary partner Indian Capital Technology Center, and additional partners will collaborate to implement the Checotah 21st CCLC to serve 150 full time students (30+ days) in 6th through 12th grade through a before school program (135 days; M-F; 6:55 - 7:55 AM), an afterschool program (100 days; M-TH;3:10 - 5:30 PM), and a summer program (28 days; M-TH; 8:00 AM - 1:00 PM). The focus of the 21st CCLC is to help MS and HS students increase academic achievement and college and career readiness. The program will include homework help, tutoring, and academic and enrichment activities. A family engagement coordinator will collaborate with families to provide learning opportunities and literacy training tailored to family needs. The 21st CCLC will be staffed with caring, positive role models who are excited to work with youth, help them explore career pathways, and build towards their future.

Hartshorne Public Schools

Hartshorne Public Schools will transform the way K-9 students learn through a project called MELLO - Miners Extended Learning and Leadership Opportunities. It will be unique from traditional learning in the following ways: 1) It will use inquiry-based learning in all subject areas; 2) it will be specialized in regards to the heritage of all students; and 3) it will allow teachers to use professional development to augment their content delivery. This will be accomplished through tutoring sessions,enrichment activities with community partners, professional development, service-learning activities, and activities aimed at helping at-risk students. A major goal of the project is to remove Hartshorne Elementary from the Oklahoma list of schools in need of Comprehensive Support and Improvement.

The Bucks Club/Pride Time afterschool and summer program offers PreK-8th graders homework time and enrichment opportunities. Administrators and staff will target students and contact parents/grandparents to improve math and reading scores and to assist in academic growth. Activities include reading, math, science,arts, health, sports, technology/engineering, coding, character development, safety education, and Osage culture. Library hours will be extended regularly for parent training, counseling, and to obtain needed resources and support. Included will be parent/student book club, computer training, guest speakers, and student/parent involvement nights. Students will be introduced to the Hominy City Library with on-site reading visits. The Osage Nation Education Department, Oklahoma Department of Wildlife, Grand Lake Mental Health, and the City of Hominy will provide programs, training, assistance and resources which will benefit the students,parents, and the community.

STARS will be the catalyst to assist in closing the achievement gap with a long-range goal of increasing at risk students academic performance. The focus is the whole child through high-quality math and reading tutoring and enrichment projects in STEM, social-emotional learning, college/career exploration, healthy lifestyles, art, music, character education, counseling, and drug, alcohol, and tobacco prevention programs. Students will have voice/choice in learning opportunities that are current, relevant, and diversified. Through theme-based clubs, students will engage in multi-session, inquiry-based, and project-based learning incorporating Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, & Math(STEAM), literacy, tutoring, homework help, entrepreneurship, music, physical activity, service-learning, mentoring, character education, and college & career readiness. Family engagement will be a shared responsibility among staff. Families will be engaged through fall/spring web meetings, monthly phone calls, and educational opportunities.

M.A.P.S. to the Tigers' Den is a 21st CCLC program to help high poverty, at risk students in grades PK-8 find their way by being Mentored, by being supported Academically, by having Positive experiences, and by having a Student centered place. Activities are student driven incorporating core academic areas, such as; reading and literacy, math, science, social studies, and enrichment activities, such as; nutrition, art, music, technology, social and emotional learning. In order to meet the needs of working parents, M.A.P.S. will operate before and after school for 140 days and in the summer for 40 days. Family involvement is invited and encouraged. There will be family engagement and literacy opportunities.

Miami Public Schools

The program will hold after school and summer sessions for approximately 300 children in first through third grades, targeting low performing and/or low income students. Students will be encouraged to meet their GOALS (Growing Our Academic & Leadership Skills) through remediation, exploration and enrichment. All GOALS programming will be hands on, providing an active learning atmosphere. Language arts, math, science, social studies, art, music and STEM sessions will be developed collaboratively by classroom teachers and after school staff in an effort to supplement and support school day instruction. Community partners will present lessons in character education, nutrition and health, technology and Native culture. Parents will be engaged through a series of interactive virtual and face-to-face events to strengthen school, GOALS and family relationships. The parent series will include topics such as nutrition, meal planning, couponing, financial literacy and adult mental health.

To help students - specifically "at-risk" children -- overcome barriers to academic success, Minco has created Minds in More Motion, an innovative 21st CCLC project model centered on Science, Technology, Engineering & Math (STEM). This project builds upon the success of the previous 21st CCLC and will focus on students in grades PreK through 8th grade. Using certified teachers and trained staff, the program will implement a hands-on center that uses a guided inquiry approach and is infused with language arts and math skills. Enrichment from various partner agencies include mechanics, engineering, hands-on science such as robotics, sports science, and arts STEM activities. Parents will be involved with planning and learning, making the project a family activity. Each year, the project will culminate with a STEM festival that will showcase the project's successes. A major goal of the project is to help students gain confidence and interest in academic success.

Sand Springs Public Schools

We will play on the words STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts, and Mathematics) which will be featured throughout the program, incorporating literacy. The main goal of Full STEAM Ahead is to prepare K-5 economically-disadvantaged students for full and successful participation in 21st Century society. Servicing our two highest poverty schools, Northwoods Fine Arts Academy and Garfield Elementary School, we will provide high quality learning opportunities and community engagement to approximately 250 children and their families through: 1.) 16-day summer in-person and virtual program known as Project Summer Spirit (PSS); 2.) 30-week after school in-person and virtual program known as Full STEAM Ahead (FSA). This program is an investment in the future for Shawnee students, giving children engaging research-based learning activities, parental support and guidance and activities aligned with Oklahoma State Standards. Parents will be offered educational activities and skill areas identified by surveys and provided training to assist their children in a safe and enriching learning environment. Staff will be trained in best practices to meet the program goals.

All curriculum will be aligned with Oklahoma Academic Standards and a program evaluation will be used to determine effectiveness with modification as needed. Individual students will be evaluated with pre and post scores.

The focus of Project Village is to provide out-of-school time programming designed to engage, connect, and excite! Ochoa has established a rubric to identify and target fifty (50) of the most at-risk students at each grade level, 1st through 5th grade. Project Village will provide an afterschool program (Monday - Friday) with unique academic and enrichment opportunities where every student will be provided snack and dinner and have access to district bus transportation. It will also provide a two-week summer program in July (Monday - Thursday) to reduce summer learning loss. Family and Community Engagement will include a home visit for each student (in the family's native language), specific services for family members, and family and community engagement activities such as Community/Comunidad: Project Village Showcase & Celebration of Culture and much more!

Varnum Public Schools

All classes will be 5 days/week. Before school program will provide homework/tutoring assistance (154 days) Afterschool program will provide access to activities not offered during the school day. (154 days) Fun, educational, enrichment activities may include robotics, cooking/nutrition, art, music, foreign language, sewing, woodworking, fitness/yoga, and archery. Summer school will be a 6 week program.(30 days) A family component will provide opportunities for monthly family engagement and educational classes in financial planning, computers, domestic violence and parenting classes. Youth will develop increased academic skills, personal skills and social skills in a safe, secured environment with guidance from caring teachers and supportive staff.

Westville Public Schools

The goal of the program is to increase academic achievement for students who are facing challenges of meeting academic standards. The program will provide tutoring in all core academic areas, remediation for students who aren't meeting grade level expectations, mentoring, enrichment programs that promote wellness in the whole child. The program will offer health, safety, cultural, technology and youth development. The program will offer families extended library hours, parenting classes, literacy and math classes, opportunities for families to receive a GED and using the college start guide to assist parents/students with career exploration. Safety programs which include drug and violence prevention programs will be offered to students and families on a quarterly basis. Counseling will be offered for individual students/parents based on needs andsurveys.

Zion Public School

Zion will use beyond school hours to operate ZEAL - Zion's Enriching Active Learning. ZEAL will support students in achievement of well-being and Oklahoma's rigorous academic standards. Several partner agencies will help facilitate this multi-faceted approach to enriching and enhancing student learning. A particular focus will be on active learning, which will include physical well-being, activity-based projects, and hands-on enrichment. ZEAL will also place a focus on activities that build student learning capacity in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math (STEAM). At-risk students will be served through engaging remediation and homework assistance. Family members will be engaged in a manner that will allow them to participate in and benefit from project activities. Project-based learning will be connected to regular-day education but will allow students to enjoy multi-day activities such as science experiments, outdoor education, and cooking.

Students will have access to a homework lab, tutoring, mentoring, Native American Cultural activities, field trips, academic enrichment activities, art, music, healthy living education, and physical fitness activities. This program will include parental education activities and family nights. Students will have access to advanced technology such as robotics and film and animation software which are not available to the students during the regular school day. Caney 21st Century Project BIGGEST (Building Innovative Graduates, Gaining Essential Skills for Tomorrow) will inspire students, families, and community members to become innovative and equipped citizens of the 21st Century. Project BIGGEST goes well beyond providing homework assistance and academic remediation in core subjects. It offers enrichment activities that include: college and career guidance related to Oklahoma's Individual Career Academic Plan program, robotics and coding enrichment, arts and music experiences, life skills training, physical fitness, and character education. Financial planning, money management, and expanded library service hours will be offered to students, parents, and community members. To tap into students' creativity, performing/visual arts will be offered. In cooperation with project partners, students will participate in multiple service-learning projects, including the "Going Green" recycling program with Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma.

Central's TEAM along with community partners will utilize funds from the 21st CCLC program to provide before school tutoring and homework assistance for students in grades P4-6th grades from 7:00 am-8:00 am.  An after-school program will be offered from 3:30 pm to 5:30 pm. The after-school program will be staffed by certified teachers to provide remediation, tutoring, homework assistance, and enrichment activities.  Based on the results of the student and parent surveys, the activities will include drug education and prevention, music and arts education, STEM activities, health and fitness, and archery classes.  Clubs were listed as areas of high interest and will include the following:  Math Club, Reading Club, and Cherokee Club.  Families will be invited to participate in Family Literacy Night, STEM and Family Fitness Nights.  Summer camps will be held in the month of June and the school library will be open in June one day a week for Accelerated Reader tests.

The program will be coordinated with a current Do Your Best youth community initiative that was implemented last year (in  2016). Students will make significant improvements in literacy and math achievement scores as measured by accepted benchmarks, as well as improved school engagement and attendance. The core program will feature daily debate practice and workshops, math intervention and enrichment time, as well as instruction in related disciplines such as speech and drama.

The After School Program will provide homework help and literacy tutoring to improve reading comprehension. It will also have a special emphasis on hands-on STEM lessons and a variety of recreational and special interest opportunities. This program will continue the lessons presented during the school day and help to reinforce concepts learned. Students will receive one-on-one guidance from certified teachers, volunteers and parents. Resources will be available to the entire family of students of Penn and will include literacy tutoring for adults in the family, instruction on the best methods to help students with their schoolwork and inclusive community-building opportunities.

The Canton TIGERS program addresses the strong need for an afterschool and summer school program in Canton, Oklahoma. Canton Public Schools serves 397 students Pre-Kindergarten through 12th grades. Both the number students and the poverty level of Canton residents have risen sharply in the past five years. The number of students who qualify for free and reduced lunches is 61%. The vision for this program is to allow all students access to a drug-free desired learning environment that will be designed to enhance the academic, social, health, and recreational success of those participating students and their families. Academically, the program is designed to assist students to perform to state standards in all subject areas. Tutoring and mentoring programs will be integrated with civic programs, expanded library resources and house, and local businesses to assist the progression of all attendees toward success in college, career, and citizenship.

Cave Springs Public Schools

The Cave Springs district is besieged by high poverty and social barriers to success. Out of Oklahoma's 77 counties, Adair County is one of the ten worst in single-parent families, number of teen mothers, illiteracy, school dropouts, substance abuse, juvenile offenses, and child neglect. The school's 183 students - 92% of whom qualify for Free and Reduced Lunches - will be served by the project. Need. Needs that arise from poverty make their way into the academic setting. Teachers have not received targeted professional development for at-risk student performance. Students often go home after school with no intention and no chance of preparing for the following school day. The Cave Springs project was designed by an advisory committee that first identified needs, identified state standards associated with those needs, and then matched resources and strategies to meet those needs. This project will not only remove barriers, it will propel students to succeed in college and career.

Colcord Public Schools

Parent/guardian educational services will be provided the first Monday of each month, and Family Engagement Events are planned to connect parents/guardians to student learning through the 21st CCLC.

Shawnee Public Schools

This program is an investment in the future for Shawnee students, giving children research-based learning activities, parental support, and guidance and activities aligned with Oklahoma State Standards. Parents will be involved in activities and skill areas identified by surveys and provided training to assist their children in a safe and enriching environment. Goals will address academic remediation and enrichment in reading, STEAM, fine arts, discipline/behavior, homework, community service/social studies, and wellness. Staff will be trained and reflect on best practices to meet the program needs.

Strother Public Schools

The academic enrichment in these extended hours will expand and enhance regular-day instruction. Students will receive snacks, homework help, and tutoring each day. The enrichment portion of the day will build upon both the classroom instruction and tutoring. These enrichment projects will be hands-on and student-led, providing these students with self-confidence in completing challenging activities. Enrichment will range from science-based outdoor projects to mathematics-based financial literacy. The after school program will provide opportunities for parents and the community to be involved with events such as a literacy night and concerts.

Temple Public Schools

Live." project will address student barriers to academic success while preparing these students for college and career. The project will use community partners to provide a rich, engaging afterschool atmosphere that encourages student and family participation in learning academic content, doing hands-on activities, and living as responsible, productive citizens.

Western Heights Public Schools

Western Heights establish two learning centers. The first is a 5th and 6th grade school reaching across all neighborhoods in the district. The objective with programming at this site is communication, leadership, and life-skills development. This will be provided through a range of student-led interests in an extracurricular setting, including art, music, science, non-competitive sports, games, and outdoor activities. Tutoring and other academic interests will support struggling students. The second works from a similar programmatic structure, but as this site is a lower elementary, student leadership will be filtered through high school and middle school students serving as peer- mentors. Younger participating students will drive program activities, but a major goal at this site is to create positive intergrade level relationships. Tutoring will also be offered at this site. Both sites will combine required Title I outreach to parents with community-wide, parental education programs.

The after school program hours are 3:15 PM - 6:00 PM and the summer program hours are 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM serving two Title I School Wide sites that have been identified as Priority sites by the Oklahoma State Department of Education during FY 2014-2015. 

Idabel Public Schools

The ABC program will provide students opportunities for academic enrichment, tutoring, personal enrichment, recreation and opportunities in the arts that are designed to complement students' academic program during the regular school day. Parents will be offered learning activities in computer assistance, English as a second language, parenting skills and other activities as requested. All activities will be conducted in a safe and drug-free environment under supervision of professional staff and caring adults. Students will have positive role models from community partners to help them grow into strong individuals. A safe friendly environment will benefit the entire community. 

Keota Public Schools

In addition, hands-on, active, project-based learning will be provided in reading/language arts; science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM); social studies; arts and music; nutrition/health; life skills; and bullying/substance abuse prevention. Parent/guardian educational services will be provided the first Tuesday of each month, and a fall/spring Family Literacy Night is planned to connect parents/guardians to student learning through the 21st CCLC.

Program learning activities, aligned with Oklahoma Academic Standards, are designed to be student-centered, interdisciplinary, address real-world problems, and incorporate technology. Participating in these activities allows students to learn skills such as effective decision-making, leadership, and interpersonal skills. Data maintenance and analysis will monitor individual as well as group progress and will be used to drive instruction. A leadership program will be initiated to focus on youth voice and practice a different leadership trait and tool each week. 

Minco Public Schools

To help students - specifically "at-risk" children -- overcome barriers to academic success, Minco has created Minds in Motion, an innovative 21st CCLC project model centered on Science, Technology, Engineering & Math (STEM). This project will focus on students in grades PreK through 8th grade. Using certified teachers and trained staff, the program will implement a hands-on science curriculum that uses a guided inquiry approach and is infused with language arts and math skills. 

Enrichment from various partner agencies include mechanics, engineering, hands-on science such as beekeeping activities, sports science, and arts STEM activities. Parents will be involved with planning and learning, making the project a family activity. Each year, the project will culminate with a STEM festival that will showcase the project's successes. A major goal of the project is to help students gain confidence and interest in academic success. 

Muskogee Public Schools

Muskogee Public Schools Project CREATE (Culture, Relevance, Engagement, Arts, Technology and Engineering) at Alice Robertson Junior High is designed to prevent learning loss and improve attendance and grades. The program will operate Monday through Thursday from 3:00 to 5:30 during the school year and Monday through Thursday from 8:00 to 12:00 during the summer. Healthy snacks and transportation to and from the program will be provided.

Project-based learning will encourage interest in the STEM disciplines, and enrichment activities will provide opportunities for physical activity, and arts education. Service learning will help students develop strong connections to their community. Field trips will expose students to college and career possibilities. Reading and literacy will be incorporated in all activities. Tutoring and homework assistance will be provided each day of the program after school. Summer programming will consist of educational activities to prevent learning loss. 

Sand Springs Public Schools

In this case, it will be a play on words as STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts, and Mathematics) will be featured throughout the program. The overarching goal of Full Steam Ahead is to prepare K-5 economically disadvantaged students in Sand Springs, Oklahoma, for full and successful participation in 21st Century society. The two high poverty sites to be served are Northwoods Fine Arts Academy and Garfield Elementary School. . It will provide high quality learning opportunities and experiences to approximately 500 children and their families through: 1.) a 16- day summer program known as Project Summer Spirit (PSS); 2.) a 30-week after school program; 3.) a 30-week extended hour library program known as LATE NIGHT @ THE LIBRARY; and 4.) a Spring Break Camp for Kids (SBCK).

Stilwell Public Schools

Educational assistance will provide remediation, sustainment and enrichment for Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 8. Assistance will be in the form of tutoring, homework assistance, basic skill areas and library hours will be extended to encourage more opportunities for reading.

Program Abstract:

Westville School District partnered with the Cherokee Nation Education Resource Center to operate a 21st CCLC Program. The goal of the project is to increase educational attainment, wellness, and youth social development among our students and their families by extending the school day and year. The Cherokee Nation Education Center will serve as the primary partner and Westville School will serve as the fiscal agent. The opportunity to participate in Center activities will be open to all students at the elementary level. Approximately 200 afterschool and summer students will be served and 50 before school. Program activities will focus on improvement in academic achievement, enrichment, wellness attainment, and improved social behaviors. Community resources will be utilized for academic activities in reading, mathematics, science, art, music, wellness, and social skill development. Parent and family activities will include: literacy, family relationship, and academic success.

Through a partnership with parents, our goal is to increase student achievement as well as attendance by providing a hands on learning environment that promotes youth leadership as well as youth voice. By working with our community partners, our goal is to create a quality afterschool program that promotes healthy lifestyle habits that will impact not only our students, but will carry over into our community as well.

Program Abstract:

Youth At Heart, working closely with a coalition of partners and the Administration of Walt Whitman Elementary School, will establish a 21st Century Community Learning Center After School Program to serve the students and families of Walt Whitman. The After School Program will provide homework help, literacy tutoring to improve reading comprehension, a special emphasis on hands-on STEM lessons and activities and a variety of recreational and special interest opportunities. This program will continue the lessons presented during the school day and help to reinforce concepts learned while expanding on them. Students will receive one-on-one guidance from certified teachers, volunteers and parents. 

Resources will be available to the entire family of students of Walt Whitman and will include literacy tutoring for adults in the family, instruction on the best methods to use to help students with their school work and additional, inclusive community-building opportunities.

Anadarko Public Schools

As part of the Promise Zone Initiative of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma, this project will also: 1) improve student skills for tomorrow's jobs, through "more rigorous summer and after-school programs," and 2) "bolster early literacy and parent support programs."

Bucks Club program has several key elements. Students in Hominy are underprivileged and need assistance with academics, physical and social needs. The students in Hominy need a safe environment to complete homework and study with adult supervision. Another element is to provide students social skills, while exploring and growing in different areas such as music, art, science, math, reading, and technology. Character building is to be improved through Character First, adult examples, and group activities, such as cooking, choir, biking, archery, news team, games, and many other activities designed within the program that support building good character. Knowledge and skills in healthy choices and lifelong physical and mental activities is another element that is important for these students. Involving parents in volunteering, participating in Student/Parent Activities, attending conferences, student performances, and student activities.

Activities for families include literacy, technology, and service-learning. The 21st CCLC will provide student access to caring, positive staff and volunteers to foster students' lifelong success.

The University of Tulsa's True Blue Neighbors aspires to build a better community and university through service. This project will allow the TBN Youth Mentoring Program to provide equitable educational resources for youth in the Kendall-Whittier Neighborhood of Tulsa. Objectives include: enhancing literacy achievement, access to healthy nutrition and community gardening, developing positive social skills to build a better citizen. TBNYMP will offer free after school programming for 140 students at Kendall-Whittier Elementary School in Tulsa.  District aligned literacy curricula and core academic content areas will complement vibrant community partnerships supporting healthy snacks/complete dinners served daily, activities in community gardening, fine arts instruction and character education. The program will also emphasize volunteer-mentor relationships by integrating TU faculty, staff and students into the culture and program design.

The program will provide the necessary academic remediation and social intervention, which are different from the highly structured regular school day learning environment. The program will include an integration of activities, which are designed to develop academic, social, physical, and emotional skills, and opportunities to explore and develop new hobbies, skills, and interests. The UL student focused approach that is community based, culturally relevant, individualized, strength based. The PEAK wraparound service plans will address multiple life domains across home, school, and community, including living environment; basic needs; safety; social, emotional, educational, and cultural needs.

Allen Bowden Schools

Beginning in fall 2013, Allen Bowden Elementary School will conduct a program that will offer academic enrichment, one-on-one encouragement, and a method for each participant to achieve excellence in the classroom and in life situations. The center will serve all Allen Bowden students from age 3 to 14. It will also offer education and involvement to parents and area residents. The Enrichment, Encouragement, Excellence project will operate each morning from 7:00 to 8:00 a.m., each afternoon from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m., one weekend a month, and during four days a week in the summer. This project will: 1) increase academic performance of every student, 2) incorporate high quality teacher development, 3) increase the ability of each student to lead a healthy lifestyle, 4) provide a safe environment for children after school, 5) enhance appreciation of community service, and 6) create a system of sustainability so that the project will continue without state aid.

Beggs Public School - ALPHA

Beggs Public School District, primary partner OSU Extension Center - Okmulgee and numerous community partners will collaborate to provide the ALPHA (Afterschool Learning Program with a HA! for Fun) 21st CCLC. The program will serve 290 full-time students (380 total) in grades 1st - 12th. ALPHA will provide 165 hours before school, 216 hours after school, and 77 hours during the summer program incorporating research-based activities that include homework help, tutoring, enrichment, and Oklahoma C3Academic Standard aligned learning activities in both core subject areas (English language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies) and non-core subject areas (nutrition and health, art, music, and technology). ALPHA will extend learning activities to families such as literacy, library, technology, and service learning. The 21st CCLC will be staffed with caring, relationship-building staff willing to encourage students to learn, grow, and develop into well-rounded, educated citizens.

Coalgate Public Schools

Strategies include 1) an aggressive attempt to reverse unhealthy conditions that are at the root of poor performance, 2) scientifically research-based curricula infused with consequential enrichment, 3) tutoring, mentoring, and homework help, and 4) community outreach that serves both families and children. Expected outcomes are improved academic performance and healthier behaviors, increased teacher competencies, greater parental participation, and client satisfaction.

The program, "Accelerate Academic Achievement" (A3) will provide a safe place and exciting programming for before and after school, and 4 weeks during summer vacation to raise student achievement in all areas of the curriculum with an emphasis on reading and math.

Students will have homework help, mentoring and tutoring, curriculum studies that are supported by technology, virtual field trips, academic enrichment activities and education on nutrition and healthy bodies.  Students will use new technologies that are not available during regular school to include interactive whiteboards and iPads.  All necessary transportation will be provided.

A3 includes adult programming that will include quarterly sessions on ways parents can become involved with their children's literacy activities and GED and parenting classes.

Hartshorne Public Schools

The Peavine Paths to Success project will use local and area entities to meet academic, behavioral, mental health, and career-based goals for at least 99 K-8 students. More than 70% of regularly attending students will score "proficient" or higher on the state CRT reading and mathematics tests. Each year, the percentage of "at-risk" students who score "proficient" or higher on state CRT reading and mathematics tests will increase by 5 percentage points. Student participants in the program will meet yearly benchmarks in social and emotional competency, increased skills in work habits, and in academic efficacy. "At-risk" students will receive individualized tutoring and counseling based on RTI tenets that will improve student performance in the classroom and on tests. Partner agencies will offer extended day enrichment activities that will expand student understanding of reading, literacy, mathematics, science, nutrition, health, art, music, and technology.

Shady Point -- a K-8 school in the impoverished area of far eastern Oklahoma - have joined forces will partner agencies to STEM the tide of academic failure and negative life situations in their students through a comprehensive after-school and summer program that targets students' Safety, Technology, Enrichment, Momentum. The STEM acronym has the added meaning of science, technology, engineering, and math - four crucial areas of learning for a student's success and part of many of this program's efforts. These four emphases will help create students and graduates who practice personal well-being, master technology tools, understand real-world applications or core concepts, and have plans for success after graduation. Ultimately, the effect of the four emphases will be academic success. Each student will improve by at least 20 percent from the previous year in the classroom - specifically in STEM subjects - and on state standardized tests.

Financial responsibility & stewardship is promoted as part of our entrepreneurial education. Students create, manage, & staff their very own startup business.
