The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has extended the REAL ID full enforcement date to May 7, 2025.

 

All driver license offices now operated by Service Oklahoma (formerly operated by the Department of Public Safety and tag agents) continue to be operational and processing business as usual. Visit service.ok.gov for more information.

Non-Payment of Administrative Fine to the ABLE Commission

Upon the receipt of a request for action  from the ABLE Commission, the person’s driving privileges will be cancelled, if licensed, or denied, if not licensed, by DPS and the action will remain in effect until the person complies by paying the administrative fine and reinstates the action with DPS.   

To reinstate this type of action you must:

  1. Surrender any type of driver license or permit in their possession to DPS as directed in the Order of Cancellation, if licensed;

  2. Pay the ABLE Commission* their assessed administrative fine; and

  3. Provide the Driver Compliance Division a “Release” from the ABLE Commission.  The release may be submitted by mail to:

    or presented in person to any Driver Compliance office.  If done by mail, the driver should provide their  full name, date of birth, and driver license number on the correspondence and allow ten (10) days for processing.
