The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has extended the REAL ID full enforcement date to May 7, 2025.

All driver license offices now operated by Service Oklahoma (formerly operated by the Department of Public Safety and tag agents) continue to be operational and processing business as usual. Visit service.ok.gov for more information.

Operating a Motor Vehicle Without Being Licensed

The Department, upon receiving a record of conviction of an offense committed by any person whose license or privilege to operate motor vehicle is under suspension or revocation, shall extend the period of such suspension or revocation.  Under 47 O.S. Section 6-303 (D)(E) or (F), the extension may be for an additional 3 months, 4 months or 12 months.  This type of action by the Department effects only the date the driver is eligible to apply for reinstatement.  The driver must consult the Add On Order and the original Order of Revocation or Confirmation Notice for the statutory requirements necessary to reinstate.
