The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has extended the REAL ID full enforcement date to May 7, 2025.

 

All driver license offices now operated by Service Oklahoma (formerly operated by the Department of Public Safety and tag agents) continue to be operational and processing business as usual. Visit service.ok.gov for more information.

John Scully

On September 3rd, Governor Stitt appointed John Scully as the Commissioner of Public Safety (DPS) for the State of Oklahoma. Prior to this appointment Scully served as the Director of the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics (OBN) from March 7, 2016, until his appointment as Commissioner of DPS.

Before his appointment to OBN, Commissioner Scully was employed by the Oklahoma City Police Department for thirty-two years serving in many capacities, including his last eight years as a Deputy Chief of OBN, Commissioner Scully was employed by the Oklahoma City Police Department for thirty-two years serving in many capacities, including his last eight years as a Deputy Chief.

Commissioner Scully earned a Bachelor of Arts in the Management of Human Resources and a Master of Science in Management from Southern Nazarene University. He is also a graduate of the 179th Session of the FBI National Academy in Quantico, Virginia, the Police Executive Research Forum in Boston, Massachusetts and the DEA’s Drug Unit Commander Academy in Quantico, Virginia. Commissioner Scully is also a graduate of Leadership OKC and the Oklahoma Municipal Leadership.
