The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is extending the REAL ID full enforcement date by 19 months, from October 1, 2021 to May 3, 2023, due to circumstances resulting from the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

When visiting Oklahoma Department of Public Safety offices for driver license and/or Oklahoma identification processing, social distancing guidelines will be enforced.

The public will be required to wear a mask that covers their mouth and nose, answer health questions, and have their temperature taken before being allowed access. Only the customer will be allowed in the building, with some exceptions (i.e .parents of minors and interpreters).

Skills (drive) test will be given by appointment only. Vehicles used for the skills (drive) test will have to be disinfected by the applicant.

Commercial driver licenses (CDLs), commercial learner permits (CLPs), and medical certificates have been extended by FMCSA until December 31, 2020 as long as they were not expired prior to March 1st, 2020.
