Intelligence
Overview
The Intelligence Unit collects information and intelligence regarding Security Threat Groups (STG), drug trafficking, organized criminal activity, and threats to staff, inmates, and civilians. The Intelligence Unit is comprised of both Intelligence Agents and Criminal Intelligence Analysts. Intelligence Unit personnel identify and validate STG/gang members, and provide STG training to ODOC staff and other law enforcement officers. Intelligence Agents partner with ODOC facilities to gather information and intelligence through interviews and other investigative techniques. Criminal Intelligence Analysts specialize in the collection and analysis of information from multiple data sources including digital evidence examinations. Analysts also provide analytic support to other OIG units and ODOC divisions.
