New, Dedicated Drive Test Center is Now Open in Broken Arrow for Teen Drivers

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

February 13, 2024

BROKEN ARROW, OKLA. – Teens eager to take their driving tests can now do so with little to no wait as Service Oklahoma announced the opening of a new, dedicated Drive Test Center located in Broken Arrow at 732 W New Orleans Suite 144. This devoted testing site ensures a swift and convenient process for young, Oklahoma drivers.

Tailored for those with a Learner Permit, the Drive Test Center was opened to meet the high demand for drive tests throughout the state. The new testing site only administers drive tests and gets young drivers in and out quickly cutting down on time spent at a Service Oklahoma location.

“We realize the milestone of a teenager receiving their driver license and wanted to make the experience as stress-free as possible,” said Jay Doyle, Chief Executive Officer of Service Oklahoma. “This location solely offers drive tests and stands to further expand our capacity for the high demand of drive tests in our state.”

When teens and their families are ready to visit the Drive Test Center, they have the option to join the waitlist at service.ok.gov/drivetestcenter. Potential drivers will take their drive test and, once they have passed, receive their new license in the mail.

Broken Arrow Legislators Chime-In on the Drive Test Center Grand Opening

Senator Haste, District 36, Broken Arrow & Tulsa:
“The Drive Test Center just opened and has already served over 300 new drivers. I had the chance to tour this new location with Service Oklahoma CEO, Jay Doyle and was able to witness how easy it is for young drivers and their families to get in and out quickly.”

House Representative Ross Ford, District 76, Broken Arrow:
"This expansion of Service Oklahoma into our House district should make it faster and more efficient for people to obtain or update their [teen’s] driver licenses. I'm thankful that our district was selected for this new facility. I know this will greatly benefit area residents."

An Oklahoma City Drive Test Center located at 7705 S Walker Ave is also opened to serve Oklahoma City metro teens. Both Drive Test Centers are open from 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. These locations are pilot sites aiming to create a new process for drive tests while also streamlining the testing experience.

Teens should also remember to take the free, online Work Zone Safety Course before heading in to take a drive test. As of Nov. 1, 2023, teens are required to take the course and submit their completion certificate by the time they apply to take their drive test for an Intermediate License.

Selfie Wall to Celebrate
The Drive Test Center also features a selfie-wall where enthusiastic drivers who pass their test can take a photo to celebrate and tell staff where their first stop will be as a new driver.

Service Oklahoma encourages those who take a photo at the selfie wall to use the hashtag #WhereAreYouGoing and to tag @ServiceOklahoma to showcase their accomplishment.

The Drive Test Centers are the most recent offering Service Oklahoma has added to help combat long customer wait times. Those updates include key online services, and a new, walk-in style check-in system that works like restaurant waitlist with no appointments required. These services combined with staffing changes have decreased customer wait times by 64 percent for December and averaged a 13-minute wait time across the 30 Service Oklahoma Licensing and Exams locations in January.
