Stringtown, Police Officer / Patrolman

The Town of Stringtown, Oklahoma is now accepting applications for the position of Police Officer / Patrolman.

Requirements

  • CLEET certification is desired, but NOT a requirement for the position. If currently CLEET certified, the applicant must be in good standing with CLEET and current with their continuing education requirements. 
  • Applicant also shall not be the subject of ANY ongoing criminal investigation(s). 
  • The applicant shall not have any felony convictions. 
  • The applicant must have a clean driving record (driving records will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis). 
  • The applicant must have reliable transportation. 
  • The long-form application must be filled in legibly with all fields completed. 
  • A thorough background investigation will be conducted. All previous employers will be contacted. Any inconsistencies may result in disqualification from the process. 
  • Upon hire, a 1 year probationary period will be in effect (NO EXCEPTIONS). A new hire will be provided a copy of Stringtown Police Department's policy and procedures, which MUST BE READ AND ACKNOWLEDGED.

Benefits

  • The Stringtown Police Department is a member of the Oklahoma Police Pension and Retirement System (OPPRS), which is a 20 year retirement program. The officer contributes 8%, the town contributes 13% for a total of 21% being paid in each pay period. Being a member of OPPRS upon hire is preferred, but not required.
  • Starting annual salary varies based on CLEET certification. 
  • Holidays are paid at 1.5 times the hourly rate. Each holiday worked the officer will be paid 12 hours, which can be used as comp time or be paid monetarily. Holidays worked are paid at the end of each quarter. 12 holidays are observed by the Town of Stringtown. 
  • After the first year of employment, the officer will receive 10 days (two weeks) of annual leave. 
  • Sick leave is accrued at 6.67 hours per pay period from the start of employment. 
  • The Town of Stringtown pays twice a month, the 1st and 15th.
  • The Stringtown Police Department will provide health insurance after 90 days of employment.
  • The officer may be eligible for a take home unit after a preliminary probation period of 3 months, provided the officer resides within a 30 mile radius of the Stringtown Police Department.
