Qualifications to fill this position include, but are not limited to:
CLEET certification required
Must be 21 years or older and a U.S. Citizen
Must have a valid driver’s license
Must have a high school diploma or GED certificate
Have no felony or significant misdemeanor convictions and no pending criminal charges
Not be involved with illicit drug use or abuse
Have no arrests for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence within the past five years (DUI or DWI)
No convictions of crimes of moral turpitude or domestic violence
No reckless driving violations in the past five years
Must have a high degree of ethical standards and moral character
Must have sound judgment and interpersonal skills
Must be community oriented
Must work nights, weekends, and holidays when needed
Must be able to perform police duties without physical limitations or special accommodations
Must be able to pass written and physical assessments
Must pass a background investigation, drug screening, and psychological assessment tests
