Job Responsibilities
- Enforce laws and ordinances to maintain public order and safety
- Patrol assigned areas to prevent and detect criminal activity
- Respond to emergency calls and provide assistance as needed
- Conduct investigations, gather evidence, and make arrests when necessary
- Write detailed reports documenting incidents and actions taken
- Provide traffic control and enforce traffic laws
- Assist with crowd control at public events or demonstrations
- Collaborate with other law enforcement agencies on joint operations or investigations
Qualifications Required
- High school diploma or equivalent required;
- CLEET preferred but not mandatory;
- Completion of a certified police academy training program within six (6) months
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Strong physical fitness
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to remain calm and make quick decisions in high-pressure situations
- Ability to handle firearms safely and effectively
- Must be able to pass a thorough background investigation, including criminal history check, drug screening, and psychological evaluation
- Must pass MMPI Exam

From $18.50 per hour and will increase to $19.00 an hour on January 1st, 2026.
