Job Responsibilities

  • Enforce laws and ordinances to maintain public order and safety
  • Patrol assigned areas to prevent and detect criminal activity
  • Respond to emergency calls and provide assistance as needed
  • Conduct investigations, gather evidence, and make arrests when necessary
  • Write detailed reports documenting incidents and actions taken
  • Provide traffic control and enforce traffic laws
  • Assist with crowd control at public events or demonstrations
  • Collaborate with other law enforcement agencies on joint operations or investigations

Qualifications Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent required;
  • CLEET preferred but not mandatory;
  • Completion of a certified police academy training program within six (6) months
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Strong physical fitness
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to remain calm and make quick decisions in high-pressure situations
  • Ability to handle firearms safely and effectively
  • Must be able to pass a thorough background investigation, including criminal history check, drug screening, and psychological evaluation
  • Must pass MMPI Exam

Pay

From $18.50 per hour and will increase to $19.00 an hour on January 1st, 2026.

Schedule

10-hour shift
Day shift
Holidays
Monday to Friday
Night shift
Weekends as needed
