Crescent - Crescent PD - School Resource Officer

Crescent is a picturesque agricultural community, nestled 30 minutes north of Edmond and North Oklahoma City. With a close-knit population of about 1,500 residents and Highway 74 cutting through its heart, the city witnesses a daily influx of over 6,000 motorists. Here at Crescent, we value community-centric policing and seek a Police Officer who thrives in a cozy, rural setting.

We are seeking a dedicated School Resource Officer to join our Police Department. The ideal candidate will be community-focused, adaptable to a small-town setting, and possess prior experience.  This position is funded by a 3-year grant.  The position may continue after that time.  The position will be primarily located at the Crescent School, however, the officer will also be expected to perform other duties as required, including patrol.

• Valid Full-Time Peace Officer Certification.
• U.S. Citizenship
• Age between 21 and 45 at the time of hire.
• Eligible for enrollment in the Oklahoma Police Pension Retirement System.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Ability to pass an MMPI Evaluation.
• Physically fit and in good health.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Clear background investigation.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screening.
• Uphold high moral standards.
• Emotional stability to handle job pressures.
• SRO Certification preferred but not required. Must be able to obtain SRO certification within 6 months of hire date.

• Ability to work both indoors in an office setting and outdoors during patrols.
• Handle stressful situations, potential exposure to extreme weather conditions, and potential chemical hazards.
• Perform tasks that may require lifting weights up to 100 pounds.
• Adaptable to a dynamic work environment with potential distractions and pressures.
   

• Competitive salary range between $31,200 - $35,360, based on qualifications and experience.

• Enrollment in the Oklahoma Police Pension Retirement System (20-year retirement program).
